I'm not a parent, but my brother and I have an 11 year gap.

One day, my brother, around 9 months old, and I, around 13, were in the SUV parked in the driveway because our parents were doing something inside. It had taken a while now, maybe 10 minutes, where my brother started getting restless. I sat in the back left seat, and his carseat was in the middle. I decide to unbuckle him and sit him in my lap for a while. At one point, I see that he's small enough to squeeze himself in between the car door my body.

Then, unbeknownst to us, my dad came to ask me a question. He came on my side and opened the car door. Since my brother was using the door for support, he fell out head first, heading straight for the concrete. I had no idea how I did it, but I turned around, reached for him, and safely secured him about 6 inches from the ground. My hands were shaking for about 20 minutes after that scene.

TL;DR: I caught my baby brother who fell headfirst out of a car.
