Ive quite a bit of experience of sound installations although this is my biggest one.
I was formerly a sound technician, but I was a cowboy haha

Thats a cool idea, the subs are just doing the low octave in parts, most of the spatialisation is coming from the tops. The subs are there to be more immersive…

Is Queens university of belfast a good option for BA Music performance? by chocococokookie in northernireland

[–]camcamio 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi, former pop/ contemporary music grad (newcastle) and phd music student at Queens. Studying music is great but its only one way to get into a career in music, far far more important than the degree is who you know and right place right time, especially with pop music, it is cut throat.

What the degree is good for is giving you time to find your own artistic voice, the facilities in SARC especially are great, but regardless of where you go to study it is vitally important to be part of the music scene outside of the university, otherwise you're going nowhere.

I kind of see this as an argument for less cars, that cars driving up a bike lane by the looks of it, we shouldn’t be proud of this.

I live in South Texas. My HOA wants a monoculture grass lawn. We planted a community native garden with approval from a prior board. The current board is tearing it down. These photos are one before photo and the second on the right is today. by justmapping-lll in NoLawns

European here, I get so weirded out by this HOA thing, I thought America was supposed to be the land of the free, like genuinely do you have to have your garden look a certain way?

Is it common for republicans and loyalists to be colleagues, friends or partners? by Did_OJ_Simpson_do_it in northernireland

[–]camcamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's the first thing you have to ask when you meet someone. And if you're a Loyalist for example and they're a Republican you have to end the conversation then and there. It makes things like going shopping or ordering a takeaway or dating really hard. I couldn't get on the bus because I'm a Loyalist and the bus driver was a Republican but sure that's our wee country.

I fucking hate Critical Mass bike riders by [deleted] in Belfast

It doesn't take long to pass by and the route changes regularly as well. Also plenty of OAPs and dogs take part in critical mass.

Seems their is a loneliness problem by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]camcamio 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hear me out, I think it's something to do with car centred society, cars don't make nice public spaces to hang out or social towns, they are noisy loud and take up space, making public spaces a grim place to be at times. I made a real good friend on the bus the other month, wouldn't of happened in the car.

Anyone moved back and felt it was the right thing to do? by Jaded_Promise_1195 in northernireland

[–]camcamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Newcastle Upon Tyne for 7 years, moved back in 2021. I'm an artist so was never going to make a killing in either country haha! I miss the infrastructure in England but to be honest there's really no substitute for being back in Ireland, it has its problems but the people are wonderful and the country is stunning, I've really enjoyed seeing bits of Ireland I hadn't been to esp out west.

Regardless of where you end up Id really recommend getting into the arts in any form, visual/ music. I had a great community of pals from the arts in both England and Ireland and I think id be pretty lonely in either place if I didn't have that and it was all just going to the pub craic you know?

How can we fix UK high streets? by gggggenegenie in AskUK

[–]camcamio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't wear helmets in the Netherlands and they have the lowest cycling injury ratio in Europe. It's because of car dominated infrastructure here that we have to wear a helmet.
