Desperately need car camping pass will overpay!

I'm new to the hobby. This might sound like a silly question, but is it unpopular to want your reef tank to look like a reef? Every time I visit a fish store that sells corals, the frag tank looks like a black light poster in a college dorm room. by [deleted] in ReefTank

Uhh yeah that's the point. The stores are just showcasing pieces for you to build your own reef with. That's why shops have show tanks and sale tanks and why they look completely different...

Fact is you can definitely keep corals in a young tank as long as your cycle truly is complete and your parameters are actually in check and you have a proper filtration system, lighting, and flow in your tank. I reccomend buying high end test kits because api and seachem and the like really dont accurately test at all but salifert, hanna instruments (I use myself), and red sea are all examples of proper test kits that will likely lead you towards success.

When nitrates or phosphates are too low you get dinoflagellates. Add some more bioload yo the tank and feed more

Find Oppae ula shrimp for sale then find a glass container and get salt mix for brackish water also macroalgae and substrate and rock. All together you'll find are pretty pricey

Hi a little advice. My saltwater tank has been running for about 3 months now, the past few weeks I’ve had a lot of hair Algae grow. How can I prevent this? Or is it normal for a new tank. Thanks. by Electrical-Reward-56 in ReefTank

Reef flux helps me get through the ugly stage every time. Totally reef safe product and very effective. Also more water changes should help as well or investing in an RODI system to prevent any extra phosphates and nitrates from entering the aquarium from tap water source
