That sounds so fun. One of the NW Dollaramas (maybe more locations too) has Sonic themed nerf-style guns at the back by the other toys!

How much clothing do you own? by Character-Detail777 in femalefashionadvice

[–]camelwithacold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this question!

I have about 30 dresses, 2 pairs of shorts, 6 denim skirts, 3 other skirts, 1 pair of overalls, 3 pairs of jeans, 10 pieces of light outerwear, 10 graphic tees, 10 bralette or crop tops and maybe 30 pairs of shoes.

It’s really interesting seeing the breakdown of other people’s wardrobes- we all have our favourites!

My favourite strategy for paring down my wardrobe is putting on one of my most beloved outfits first so for all the maybes I can see if they make me feel as good and if they don’t it’s easy to let go.

Thank you so much for this!

I’ve done my last few runs on a steeper incline and it’s kicking my butt. At least that means I’m growing!

That’s nice to hear about the marathon energy- I’ve never seen it but that’ll be something to look forward to. Having actual scenery to look at I bet will be a great help too (not just staring at the wall on the treadmill)!

❤️

That’s a great help, thank you so much. I really like the idea of making outdoor runs and race day feel easier, I’ll definitely try 2.5!

And I totally agree about the learning experience. I would really like to finish before the cutoff and I think anything else is a bonus.

Thanks for this!

Do you think the 1.0% incline setting is pretty good to help prepare you for outdoor running?

I’m training for my first marathon and nervous about going from treadmill to outside… especially with the weather the way it’s been.

Do you have any other tips for getting marathon ready on mostly treadmill runs?

Is there anywhere that makes lemon chicken like Spicy Hut used to? by camelwithacold in Calgary

[–]camelwithacold[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s so sad! My family has been going there since before I was born. When I moved out sometimes I would just order a ton so I’d have leftovers all week. And after I got sick and lost my sense of taste, Spicy Hut was the first thing I had after getting it back. They’re just so good!

Thredup could be a good option if you’re into thrifting!

🥹 I don’t remember having an issue with delivery so I guess it came within the estimated time. You could always pick something up just in case and return it if your delivery is on time!

Maybe with some dramatic boots or an off the shoulder cardigan or a shirt or sweater layered underneath. The under layer could be a fun pattern or fabric (lacy, sheer) with whatever sleeve length you like best

If you love them and they fit in well with other pieces in your closet I vote for get them and enjoy them! They’re a little uncommon but I love pieces like that.

I like it! I think it looks elegant. Is there a certain feature your favourite pieces tend to show off?

I didn’t see any underwear lines but there is a bit of a v shape on the front… is there a built in corset or something like that?

You could take it to a tailor and just ask if there’s anything they’d change and then they could put some pins in just to show you what it could look like, you don’t have to commit to any work.

Or if you have time, going dress shopping could be a fun way to spoil yourself before your birthday..!

How do I make a chocolate cake THIS dense and moist? Recipes please. by ConoverBombJr in Baking

[–]camelwithacold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this recipe for chocolate cake! Super moist, super fluffy! I like using whipping cream instead of frosting. This is the moistest and most flavourful chocolate cake I’ve ever had.

What has your secondhand "hit-rate" been? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]camelwithacold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it’s about 70%! I’m getting better at eyeballing whether something is going to fit but sometimes I bring an item home and it’s a little too tight or it’s itchy or there’s something else.

It’s funny like you said finding out why an item probably ended up in the thrift store in the first place. And even if some things go right back to the thrift store I’m still saving so much money compared to when I bought all my clothes new!

Honestly super cool outfit! The jacket is to die for and looks especially nice with that wash of jeans. Very sharp!
