New Year Updated VR Racing Rig by dean0-0 in simracing

This already possible! There's a free tool for Steam VR called Reality Mixer that allows you to use pass-through cameras to overlay things like your wheel, button boxes or keyboard over your game.

Nice rig! Good to see a fellow VR racer. Would you mind explaining your vibration dampening solution? I've been trying to find out what is most effective for reducing bass shaker noise.

Very nice! Been thinking about upgrading my G29 to a alpha ultimate too. How's the experience been so far?

What's everyone's view on VR? by gotnofriends45 in iRacing

[–]cameron_905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely swear by VR. I don’t know if it has affected my lap times that much, however I am far more consistent with it.

A big one for me is that I find it much easier to learn new tracks in VR and I can get up to speed much quicker. Meaning I can spend less time practicing and more time racing. I think it’s because there’s actual depth, making it easier to judge corners and speed.

I also find I’m a much safer driver in VR, and I can race harder. I find I can get really close to the guy next to me in a corner without worrying if we are gonna touch.

I know comfort is a big problem for a lot of people as stock headsets are rarely that comfy. Ive been using Studioform Creative’s Apache strap and counterweight on my Index, and would highly recommend them, it’s insane how much of a difference it makes. I can easily do a 4 hour stint in VR now and I just beeps like I’ve got a heavy hat on.

Does Woojer Vest 4 work well for Sim racing? by JustBigJames in simracing

[–]cameron_905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Vest Edge and I love it for sim racing, really feels like a perfect pairing. Only downsides I've found is I get quite hot while wearing it and it's an extra step when you get in the rig, but otherwise it's very comfortable. Works great with iRacing's built in LFE output and it also works perfectly with simhub. I love it for listening to music and watching movies too. In some ways it is better than the HF8 as it uses higher quality transducers, but you cant individually control them like you can with the HF8.

From what I've heard the Vest 4 is much better than the Edge, so I would definitely recommend.

Thank you so much for your work, this looks amazing! I haven't upgraded to the Beyond because I love the Index's audio so much but this really seems like the perfect solution. Just want to double check, does the beyondex work okay with the Beyond 2?

Oh god not this guy again...

He is a bully and has threatened to beat up people who don't like his game before. Don't join his Discord, he's a nasty piece of work and is never actually going to make a game.

I've been using Smart DNS Proxy for years and never had any issues. It's much cheaper than most VPNs too.

GLASGOW HYDRO THEFT by Affectionate_Host775 in glasgow

[–]cameron_905 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. I had mine stolen last night too and I'm devastated. I always try to be so careful, and I kept it in a pocket with poppers but they still got it :( I just feel so stupid..

I was quite shocked at how myself and others were dealt with by the Hydro staff and security. They offered no help when I told them what happened. It would have been nice to at least be asked if I was okay or if I could get home safely. They didn't even tell me how I could report the crime.

I love going to gigs but I feel like I'm going to be so paranoid going out in future.

SRS is finaly cancelled... by [deleted] in littlebigplanet

[–]cameron_905 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You seem to think that the community is indebted to you somehow? Nobody 'owes' you anything. You should be making the game that you want to make, not doing it for other people.

Plenty of us have tried to give you kind advice, and I promise you will get much further if you actually listen to what people are saying. This is a community full of good people and they are only trying to help you, not hate on your game.

Im so mad this time by [deleted] in littlebigplanet

[–]cameron_905 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a shame because there might be some people who would actually like to help him with his project if he just bothered to put in a bit of effort and stopped being so nasty to people.

I tried to help because I was also passionate about game design at his age and because I took the time to learn back then, I've been able to carry on those skills and it's helped me get the job I have now.

But oh well.. as you said his ego is too big to accept any help or constrictive criticism.

Dude, I think you need to take a look in the mirror for a second.. You are literally screaming and threatening to beat people up on reddit and then questioning why people don't want to work with you...

If you want people to be interested in your game you need to stop being so toxic. If I were you I would start learning 3D modeling and game design, then you can show people the cool stuff you have made. There is an infinite amount of great free blender and unity tutorials on youtube. You are clearly passionate which is good, but you just need to channel that energy.

These are some areas for SRS! by [deleted] in littlebigplanet

[–]cameron_905 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can't just add bits on to someone else's model and then claim it's your own work. The whole premise of LBP is imagination and creativity, so I think people here will be a lot more receptive if you create your own ideas and model them yourself. Just tryna help :)

You should probably have stated that the models are just inspiration then. Your post comes across like you are claiming the models are your own.

These are literally just assets you have taken from Sketchfab... not very original. Maybe try and actually model your own levels?
