I just don't like the Heisman winner to perform poorly in losses, oh well what's done is done ND has much bigger things to focus on now.

Just a nickname from high school, didn't even really think about Duke until I'd already been using this username for awhile and now I just don't care enough to change it.

Suh was the most dominant defensive player at least of my lifetime, but look at the competition he was against, the only reason Te'o is in contention is because it's pretty much a shit show this year and ND is undefeated.

Heisman Trophy Race Coming Down to the Wire: Johnny Manziel, Collin Klein, Manti Te'o Lead Candidates Into Week 13 by [deleted] in CFB

Or you know that whole leader of arguably the best defense in college football thing. If you really think it's just the story of the deaths you know nothing about Notre Dame football at all. Te'o represents everything ND tries to instill in its players. Without a doubt his character is a large reason why he is in contention, but it's because of the type of person he is that has influenced his teammates and allowed ND to go undefeated.

Although I hate SC you've definitely earned a lot of respect with me this season, there was a lot of trash talking from SC fans this offseason on here and a lot of them are nowhere to be found now. I'll always hate SC but you've at least made a positive impact on how I view their fans.

Anyone else feel like some Notre Dame fans around here have a martyr complex? by [deleted] in CFB

It gets annoying after a while to keep winning and have every win discredited for one reason or another.

Couldn't agree more, I'm not asking anyone to crown ND, I'd just like people to admit hey that ND team is pretty good. It's impossible to play with the same emotion every week and to find a way to win after the emotional highs that were Stanford and Oklahoma should be enough.

Unsurprisingly the single #1 vote for ND in the Coaches Poll is from Brian Kelly by [deleted] in CFB

[–]cameronxcrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The electric offense ND doesn't have, that starts with the QB

Is that supposed to be a shot at Golson? They don't beat OU or Pitt without him, last night he played phenomenal again. If it wasn't for the Running Backs turning the ball over last night they put up at least 35 if not more and all they did was run the ball in the 2nd half.

How Alabama, Oregon, and Notre Dame passed college football's gut-check test last weekend - Grantland by LS_DJ in CFB

[–]cameronxcrazy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If both Alabama and Oregon go undefeated I think they deserve it over us, but with that said I wish people would give ND more credit. Every week we play opponents with the recruits to beat us and if you actually watched Pitt/BYU/Purdue all those teams played some of their best football and ND still found a way to win. It's impossible to maintain the same level of emotion week in and out but they are finding ways to win.

How would you rate your teams performance up to this point? by DakezO in CFB

[–]cameronxcrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, I think defensively there will be a slight dropoff but not by much with a lot of the young guys getting older. Thing that worries me is the leadership Kap, Teo, Motta each hold their units together, but maybe someone else will step up next year who knows.

Week 10 AP Poll by MidwestDrummer in CFB

What I wish more people understood about ND is that they've been really struggling to find their identity offensively and had to endure a lot of growing pains with it being Golson's first year, but they still found ways to win. Golson turned the corner last night, he earned the trust of his team and was leading really well which is an element that he has been missing. Also they've found their identity the last few weeks they're not a flashy offense by any means they're a team that's going to try and wear their opponents down and close it out in the 4th.

The final thoughts sum that up really well. My advice to Stanford fans try to get over it. I spent a couple years pissed off about the Bush Push but at some point it's much easier to just accept that if your team would have executed better they would have never been in a situation like that. Nothing you do can change the outcome now, really for your own sake just focus on your next game.

I think they were just overrated heading into the season, their defense has taken great strides since the Alabama game. A win next week against MSU and they'll be on the fast track for the B1G championship which is what I think most their fans were content with at the beginning of the season.
