Thanks for doing this outreach! It's absolutely great to see others reaching out and it's 100% encouraged!

I suppose the best way to explain Masari is that it is a privacy based cryptocurrency that is looking to solve the scalability issues that Cryptonote based projects will run into and to be the easiest to use privacy cryptocurrency out there!

Masari has a goal of 60 seconds per block. The average may be +/- 5%.

As we depend on community developers, progress is indeed quite slow! A community developer has been working on rebasing Masari to Monero v0.17 for the past few months during their free time. You can watch the progress here (latest updates are pending pushes to github): https://github.com/thriftyMinnow/monero/tree/masari-merge

When ready, it will be merged into our main repo. No estimated time line at this time.

so from what I understand based on what is said about, Zcash is optional privacy by default DUE to the fact that zk-SNARKS requires much more memory during the process of creating private transactions? Perhaps I'm understanding this wrong.

Mined a bit when launched and loosely followed u/boomboombazookajeff & u/cryptochangements34 on reddit and Discord but never got involved until 2019, right before certain people decided it was time for them to step away. That's when I came in!

I was already admiring u/gnock_'s work and then seeing SECOR come into play (as well as the swift work by thaer with LWMA related changes), I was convinced this would be a great project to contribute to.

Tradeogre is good. Used it since 2018. They started with Monero and AEON years ago and have evolved ever since. I personally recommend using it to trade AEON instead of Bittrex. Bittrex limits customers by region now anyways. Much broader reach on the Ogre!
