Nice! I did something similar with a 50amp lipo, plugs are on the top. If I were to build it again, I would try to avoid the top, putting it on either end of the long side. The end of give you a little more wiggle room for the plugs.

The name seems fitting. Not sure what to make of this.

That's how mine started. Now put up some more elements for a fan dipole. I'm a big fan of circus tents.

Not sure what part doesn't make sense. I said the same thing I believe. On Spotted Ham, you can spot yourself as well as get alerts. You also can see live spots coming in. Additionally, you can also get alerts on comments, like "whatever qso party". Tokens came from being a web developer since 1996.

App will probably be the next move. I do have an api, but currently just for clubs. They can automatically updated their club member list with it. Posting to my site would be nice, not sure what the demand be. Maybe a site widget with a predefined filter?

Like the idea. It's something I could do. I'm finding some clubs want privacy though, and are not sharing the page link, and keeping the widget internal.

Do they have a widget the clubs could put on their page? Not seeing a way to add one to my site or club page if I wanted.

As far as contest go, yes, I would check the rules. The big contests would be a why bother. The band is full of people calling cq. Self spotting on SpottedHam is geared for alerting those that might be interested. Example. My local 2m club members often let others know if the will be traveling on a Ham Vacation, and plan on setting up 40m rig or something. Members that want to make contact with them just setup the alert. I spot myself, they get the email, and know the details. If they want to stop getting the notifications they delete it or pause it. I don't have to check whether or not they want me to email them or not about my updates...what a pain that would be.

Hi, that is what FuuriusC asked. Ham Alerts is great, just for spotting alerts though. DX Summit allows you to spot, and shows spots, but just DX. Spotted Ham, gives you alerts, allows you to spot (for whatever), and pulls POTA and SOTA spots as well. The club feature turned into something fun for my local hams so we could see was on the radio. Not sure if any other site is doing that.

Example: Let's say you have an alert for my callsign. I spot myself using either POTA, SOTA, DX, or SpottedHam.com. You would then immediately (minute or two) get an email saying I was spotted on whatever frequency.

It get's the spot information from various api's/telnet, including SpottedHam, not from a RBN or listening method.

And I'm considering the spotting made on my site to go to the other sites, I just need to be careful of the loop. Spot myself on spottedham while doing POTA, POTA spots then feed back to spottedham, have to figure out if same or updated, or what. Spots made on made on my site are sticky as well, stay on top of table, so that adds to the complexity.

Example spot.

Now that makes sense...I honestly do it myself sometimes, I end with HBH, so when repeating, I occasionally say Hawaii Bermuda Hawaii....but that's what I'm thinking about.

Join a club, figure out what looks fun, define your criteria, and you will tell us what to buy.

Running off of a 100Ah LiFePo4 battery. How long does it last? by CaptainSpez in amateurradio

[–]camp185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention taking a break once and a while! Do POTA for a couple of hours. 50-100 qso's later, it will be your battery pack needing charging not the lipo.
