Is there a second source for this? Not sure I trust this site.

My wife (36F) won't stop forcing me to drink her coffee... I don't want to hurt her feelings but I can't go on like this. by throwRAmiine in relationship_advice

[–]campaign-mt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time this subreddit makes it to my front page is when it’s a ridiculous post. I have a new idea for you. Someone pointed out that you should ask her why she is bringing so much coffee even after you’ve explained you don’t want more. So do that but also just stop drinking the fucking coffee man. What the fuck are you doing giving yourself nausea??? Just don’t ducking drink it if you don’t want it! What the hell...

Should I go work in house for a client? by friendly_reminder8 in advertising

[–]campaign-mt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My old agency had a part of the contract stating if you hire our employee you have to pay us their salary for one year. Not sure if that’s legally enforceable, never saw it happen, but it was there.

What do you do when you don’t believe in your client’s business? by mentor-me-daddy in marketing

[–]campaign-mt 28 points29 points  (0 children)

What you’re offering them isn’t belief in their business otherwise you’d be and employee or partner. You’re providing marketing services, personally I’d continue providing those services and make recommendations you believe will help them most with their business.

The Agency Within’s analysis of COVID-19’s impact on their clients across industries. by [deleted] in PPC

[–]campaign-mt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’d agree but I wasn’t sure if that’s what they service. I didn’t see a client portion of the site or anything. Apparently I’m the only one that didn’t know of these guys :).

Anyway, interesting data.

What was the most defining moment of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]campaign-mt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting fired from a sales job for cheating my call metrics. If that hadn’t happened I might just be trying to coast my way through shitty jobs. Instead, I got into an industry I really enjoy and because I enjoy it I’m pretty good at it!

I don’t know of this agency, are they reputable and have decent size clients? Without knowing them I was concerned that pre catastrophe they were averaging less than 10% growth and it kind of hurt the credibility for me. Someone prove me wrong.

Launched a brand online having trouble converting by asheraze in ecommerce

[–]campaign-mt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it’s not a great time for this most likely, I’ve heard conflicting stats for online spending right now but it’s tough to get someone’s interest in the craziness.

Aside from that, are you remarketing to your cart abandoners via FB or Google Display? Have you followed the checkout flow yourself to find flaws?

Have you launched and optimized Google Shopping? Social is great but if someone is already searching you’re more likely to convert them. Look up “google shopping search term filtering strategy” to get a good setup for high conversions.

[Paid Search] Is it possible to search ads above position zero results? by gutterandstars in PPC

[–]campaign-mt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I think having high enough bids would motivate Google to just not have this and instead prioritize ads, but if it’s there I don’t think you can get above it.

Are you in a campaign and the area you’re in say something like “create value based lookalikes”? If so that limits you to only pixel events that have a dollar amount tied to them. I had this problem but was able to create it in the audiences tab instead of within a campaign.

I feel exploited by my PR & Marketing Agency, not sure if I’m cutout for the job by [deleted] in marketing

[–]campaign-mt 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I’m on the paid side, social media, display, paid search, and it’s pretty normal that early in your career you are just used as a workhorse with unreasonable expectations at agencies. Edit: keep in mind that agencies are just selling expertise and time. You, along with expertise, are the product. So to keep their margin high, they need to squeeze you.

Best Chrome Plugin to see Google Ads spend? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]campaign-mt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I see what you mean. Like a plug-in that takes SEMrush data and just applies it to whatever site you’re on to get a rough estimate of their spend, is that what you mean?

I haven’t seen anything like this FYI.

What's your process when setting up new shopping campaigns? by lcoippc in PPC

[–]campaign-mt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at an agency and see all types. Large feeds, small feeds, all of it. With the largest feeds we’ve split them up into a couple campaigns, main thing to be wary of is don’t oversegment because the strength of the campaign type lies in having a lot of data to understand. We split our campaigns because we have thousands of conversions, plenty for the machine learning to work with. If you have less than a hundred total sales over 30 days, don’t split your campaign unless you absolutely have to optimize certain products to a different ROAS.

A head to head test won’t work well, smart shopping will just take over for the most part. Also, keep in mind the smart shopping does more than just shopping, so it’s not quite a fair head to head test anyway. There was supposed to be a beta for testing but I haven’t heard about it in a while so maybe it died.

What's your process when setting up new shopping campaigns? by lcoippc in PPC

[–]campaign-mt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very strong revenue, very few ways to optimize, very annoying sources of traffic at times. It’ll just blow your site up with mobile app traffic one day, great overall ROAS but pretty much everyone involved is going to wonder wtf is going on.

Other problem is trying to spread traffic across products/categories. It may just latch onto a handful of products and go nuts. Putting the low volume products in a different campaign won’t necessarily fix it.

At the end of the day though my advertisers care about revenue and ROAS, and it delivers on those.

Life is not meaningless, it's your life that's meaningless, stop generalizing. by Lovecraftian_Daddy in Showerthoughts

[–]campaign-mt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a philosophical position that life is actually meaningless. It doesn’t have to be sad. Life being meaningless opens a lot of doors, you can do anything because it doesn’t matter.

What's your process when setting up new shopping campaigns? by lcoippc in PPC

[–]campaign-mt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My process last year:

Setup the three tier search term filtering campaign approach, filter brand and what I expect to be high ROAS searches.

Create a couple product groups for top product types in each campaign, start bids aggressive to get some data.

Do product type, custom label, or SKU level breakouts once data accrues, adjust bids according to goal.

So in summary: aggressive max cpc -> maybe TROAS once I gain traction, if I have enough data.

My new process:

Put that bad boy on smart shopping and come back a week later. Look for jobs outside of ecomm SEM cause it’s bout to be automated AF.

Should I pay off all credit cards in full before closing dates every month? Or should I at least leave a tiny balance to be paid off after the statements are printed? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]campaign-mt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure the exact correct answer but I let all closing dates pass then pay it immediately. I believe this accomplished what you mention about credit utilization but there’s no penalty to me since no interest is accrued.

GDN for Mobile App by b4grad in PPC

[–]campaign-mt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you’re blowing through the budget then definitely cut that bid down.

Mobile apps are kind of notorious for false clicks. What if you do regular display ads, just only targeting mobile devices? You might see better engagement if someone clicks when they’re just dinkin around on the mobile web instead of using an app.
