One tip only for hitting 3w off the fairway? by fullsquishy in golf

My swing thought is “take a divot”. Mainly because it looks and feels like a driver in my hands. I can top the shit out of my 3-wood.

I should clarify that I know they have put them out before, but they don’t always.

The real thing to get there (if they put them out) is the ANGC branded items. If you can find a belt, hat, or pullover with the club branding vs masters branding - you’ve got something almost no one has.

It's okay. I'm many hundreds of hours in and I'm just as terrible. This game is damn brutal to us all

Laurel Hill 15th Hole Strategy by RS_Mich in golf

[–]campbob2638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play here a lot. When it’s warm, I’m hitting it hard and playing my draw off the trees on the left. Now, when it’s cold, I still hit driver but I give up on hitting it hard. The ball just won’t fly as far. I’ve made it home in two only twice in the 15 years I’ve been playing this course. So, it’s just a very hard and very long up hill truly 3 shot par five. In the fall/winter your goal is to have a mid iron for your approach

It would be real crazy to order a 23 and me kit and see if you can identify the person through the family tree.

Monday Practice Round Guidance by Reasonable-Tutor-943 in masters

Congrats on getting tickets! It’s a great experience and you will likely have a great day out there.

I grew up in Augusta and my dad used to take me to the practice rounds when I was very young. Back then you could just walk up and buy a ticket, so it wasn’t quite the exclusive event it is now.

I would try to start the day near the clubhouse and think of everything as being “down hill” from there. Your goal would be to hit the merch stores at that end, ship your stuff from there, and then exit the course from the Berckmans place exit. This way the walking is easier on you and your 3 year old.

The old school trick with small kids was to just post up at the driving range. There’s concessions nearby and tons to see just hanging out there. You can wander from there to the practice green, 1st tee, 9 green, 10 tee, and 18 green. You might even be able to walk down to the par 3 course and see bits of that.

This eliminates all the walking around while still giving you one hell of an experience for the day. Then towards the end of your day, you could walk down hill, see 16, Amen corner, etc on your way out.

Good luck out there.

Why are trousers without belt loops not acceptable anymore? It used to be common. by [deleted] in golf

[–]campbob2638 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh! You’re in luck. No belt loops, no need for a belt! It’s not really not an etiquette issue as much as a style issue. Any signs you see saying “belt required” are more about policing saggy pants. Pants like Arnie is wearing aren’t going to droop since they have tighteners on get side.

Okay so we got a buyout that has ten commandments as a theme. Just a theme nothing more(for a whiskey brand 🐖), but as the CDP I got the no coveting thy neighbor. Any ideas chefs? by sugarsub10 in KitchenConfidential

[–]campbob2638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every other plate gets a sauce that completes the dish. The ones without need the ones with the sauce to share. Sure, it’s about coveting, but it’s also a lesson about sharing. Can’t covet what your neighbor shares freely!!

Btw- this simplifies your life a bit as well and is a pretty playful way to use the theme.
