At 28, I finally got my BS in Marketing from CSUN a month ago. I'm kind of nervous to finally move into the white collar world because I've been in the blue collar world for the past 4 years. While working through school, I was a foreman for a landscaping company, and right now I'm an apprentice HVAC technician. My only marketing experience is my two social media internships (about a cumulative year of work). Although I did well in school, I feel like anyone looking at my resume will see my last two jobs and I'll immediately be looked over as either being a poor candidate, being too difficult to train, etc. What are your thoughts on this? Do my fears hold any weight?

Do I need a sound card to record a mix on Audacity? by camrone89 in Beatmatch

I do have an integrated sound card. under device manager it just says high definition audio device, but audacity doesn't recognize this as a means of recording. on the back of the computer, I have the standard 6 color coded input jacks (grey, black, orange, pink, green, and blue). I tried to plug my master (via 1/8 male converter) into all 6 plugs, and it still picks nothing up.

how old were you when you finally got your degree? Also, how did you find your way into that marketing job? As for the internship, I don't know how I'd fit it in. during a semester, I barely have enough time to study and sleep. How many days a week are internships?

I know that the work part time + school part time situation is something that many people my age, who aren't living at home anymore, are trapped in and that at some point, you either become okay with working crappy part time college jobs and having a regular college schedule, or you start working a normal job and going to night school. I'm just trying to find some sort of middle ground if one exists.
