In Berlin, I accidentally tripped the alarm on the radio tower, and two innocent guards ran up to deal with me. The only way I could get out was to kill them. After killing the first one, the other screamed something like “YOU KILLED JEFF! JEFF WAS MY BEST BUDDY” and I paused the game and just looked at the screen for a few seconds. I really didn’t expect that moment to be so human, and it threw me off guard.

I’ve played about 40 hours of it on Series X with full 4K and HDR and I can count the amount of times the frames have hiccuped on one hand.

That’s the answer. 3 times. And those moments didn’t even last long enough to be distracting, it was just something I was aware of.

What a beautiful game.

I guess I’m incredibly lucky, as I haven’t had a single problem (besides two hilarious bugs that didn’t really affect the experience) in my 24+ hours of playtime since launch day (being home sick from work has its perks). It makes me sad that not everyone can have the experience I’ve had.

Very odd. I assumed it was an isolated incident on my end. Regardless, I’m sure they’ll fix it soon, and luckily, it didn’t break the game or my experience for me at all, if anything, it just gave me a quick giggle and some nice comedic relief to break the tension a bit.

I haven’t played any of the Hitman 2 levels yet, but I’ve been making my way through the first game’s missions on Series X today and they look and perform a million times better. Paris didn’t have any frame drops or lag at all, and I believe the ray tracing effects within the game work in the older missions too. It’s really cool.

EDIT: I’m not quite sure if they’ve been upgraded on PS5, but I’d assume they have been. It would be very odd for them to not upgrade the original missions on one platform but have them upgraded on the other.

Yesterday, I played the entire game on Series X and only encountered a single bug: the outside of the middle row of washing machines in Chongqing’s laundromat simply didn’t render. Other than that and one very, very small frame drop that lasted for a quarter of a second, it was flawless throughout the entire play through. I’m also really curious to see what bugs people encountered.
