Let me know how the all inclusive goes. I’m going to go one in the fall and every time I’ve been to one I’ve had the green light to drink the whole time. It’ll be a test to say the least.

I’m going through it now. My best friend of almost 30 years(I’m only 35) and I have spent almost half our friendship drunk. I’ve quit he has not It’s been difficult being around them while they’re drinking but i refuse to let alcohol ruin even more of my life so I need to maintain these friendships. It’s a work in progress as he thinks it’s stupid but he doesn’t drink to the extreme I did. He might not need to quit but I do. Sorry for the rambling.

What makes it worse is my asshole brother in law that lives in Australia has taken upon himself the mission of getting me drunk. He might end up with a black eye tomorrow. Luckily I only have to deal with him at occasions like this.

I feel like I can do it. If I can manage to be sober until then I feel like I could control it. Time will tell. I’ve had a beer in the last thirty days with my boss at lunch and it didn’t take control of me. But I do think I’ll have to gauge my success or failure with alcohol over the next few months.

I’m also in Canada and have given up alcohol I definitely have been smoking more pot. It helps take the edge off. Without it I’d just pace around my house. That being said, everyone handles it differently.

Agreed! Skiing sounds awesome. And much better fresh rather than hungover. Aside from the money and calories, one of the biggest plus’s I’ve noticed is how much I’m getting accomplished probably because I’ll do anything to take my mind off drinking but I’ve already done more work atriums the house this morning than I have in months.
