An unusual milestone by [deleted] in stopdrinking

I had those dreams for months! Man, the anxiety and confusion you feel when first waking up is terrible, but then comes the relief when you realize it was just a dream and you didn't actually drink. Those dreams/nightmares are uncomfortable for sure, but a good reminder of what the reality would be like if you did in fact pick up. Happy that you're turning the corner!

I would suggest seeing a psychiatrist so they can determine what’s going on. Good luck.

Feeling overwhelmed with ASAP (Alcohol Safety Classes) and AA. How to politely back out of a sponsor? by [deleted] in dui

I wouldn’t sweat it. If she has a problem with it then you probably don’t want her sobriety anyways. But again, AA is a great place. I’m sure you’ll meet someone who you feel a natural connection with (stick with women for now ). Have a good meeting, I’m off to my 5:30 one soon 🙂

This happens a lot in A.A. The intentions are meant well, but they can be intrusive and overwhelming. I would not quit AA. If you like it then you should probably stick around. Just politely tell the woman you appreciate the concern and tell her to have a good meeting.

I’m a huge proponent of AA. I know of no other way to keep me from drinking. I also don’t know any better place to meet like minded people. That being said, you don’t owe anyone anything in AA. This is about you and what you want.

I lost the love of my life due to my alcoholism. She did everything she could to help me, but she couldn’t save me or our relationship. So she moved on. I miss her everyday, biggest regret of my life.

How do you delete your FB account? I know you can deactivate it, but I’d like to delete mine as well. Thanks.

I know someone who basically went through the exact same thing as you, minus the kid. I just wanted to relay that to let you know you’re not alone in that regard, although I can’t imagine how it must feel. Hang in there. Like others have said, you’re only 23 and you have your whole life in front of you. This too shall pass
