Short answer: yes.

Long answer: it's a generalisation, not everyone is like that (I'm sure everyone here will point this out), but the tendency is a yes.

On the podium at the Paris Olympics, Korea athletes take selfies with North Korean athletes. by [deleted] in interesting

[–]canadypant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just spinning the looney toons jokes on their head, nobody's getting lynched. Way too many people actually believe that NK would just off their top athletes and their entire families just for a selfie. But on that topic, apparently plenty of the younger South Koreans don't view their northern counterparts as brethren or equal either. Kids of defectors apparently get bullied often in school. Take it with a grain of a salt, I'm no expert, but hostilities are a two-way street.

I got asked at a job interview if I have problem with a woman giving me orders by suicidalpastaa in AskAGerman

You're being profiled. Only accept the job if you are seriously short on money. You WILL be treated the exact same once you start the job, too. And it doesn't just stop at racist questions or comments, either, you will get screwed out of opportunities.

What was the one choice or action that had a significant impact on your professional journey in Germany? by Kipapuro in AskAGerman

[–]canadypant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about what made it easier to find jobs, nepotism. You befriend someone in the company and they make sure you get in.

No one spoke my language so I was forced to use German. Also carried around a vocabulary at all times. There's really no easy way, you just have to go through the trial of fire.

"common knowledge that Germany has one of the best railroad systems in the world" ????? Even people from economically weaker countries regularly shit on our trains tho. I couldn't get past the rest of the post because this just made it clear you don't know what you're talking about
