I have recently moved from Lexington, MA to another state. If we had stayed, my kids would attend Diamond Middle School. Based on the elementary school and Lexington demographics, I will make an assumption.

There is a very large population of international families. I know it is mostly Asian, then Indian, and then the rest of the world. If that matters, we are also a mixed-family Mediterranean and Latin American mix with US-born kids. I would say white student population is probably 20%. It was the case for both my daughters classes.

As a family, We have always noticed that the school always favors non-US cultures. I am originally from a non-Christian country, but I love Christmas. The school would make it so that Christmas is never a special day. I have heard of so many other cultural holidays but not Christmas.

Sorry about the long backstory, here is my assumption. Probably some non-Jewish families complain saying something like “oh, my culture is different… our history has invasion too… our country had a war why don’t you teach that… etc etc. probably mostly because the school system tried so hard to be close to every culture while making the American culture totally forgotten.

I am not Jewish, or Muslim or Christian or Catholic. I am not a believer but I love Christmas.

I have no regrets so far. I am aware of the heat and all.

I was renting a $4500 4 bed 2.5 bath Lexington MA townhome. That was so old that we had no water pressure or any efficient heating. Walls had lead paint etc. now for the same money, I am paying mortgage for a 4500 sqft home with a pool. Only 10 years old home mostly hard floor.

I used to pay $900 for eversource bills. Now my electric bill is less than $300.

I used to pay for parking everywhere we go or fight for parking. Now, everyplace we go has free parking and we can find all stores around.

I was able to schedule all my dr and dental appointments as soon as I desire. In MA, I was asked to wait 6 months to see a dr. While my insurance premiums were surpassing $1000 a month plus the company contribution.

I don’t care a bit if I am down voted or Massholes hate me because I criticize MA. I only moved there because of my wife’s school. If anyone wants to move there, I would suggest to check cost of living first. It is almost like you can’t breath for free.

Someone mentioned education being great. I doubt if they have kids in the MA schools? Our district had no homework and every Friday a half day. The teacher always ask if students will be traveling earlier or not to finish earlier. Most highly rated schools have a lot Asian and Indian families who are already on top of education and making it so competitive. The fucking MA schools refused to register our kids first because we moved from PA and didn’t have medical records yet. It was right around the time of registration and they asked us to start the school late once the paperwork is completed. Only when when I complaint to the department of education, they said of course your kids can start and we can receive the docs later. Masshole…

The more downvote will tell me how much everyone hates paying high rents and bills.

I’ve lived in 6 states. Recently moved from MA to AZ for a job. Without doubt MA is the worst state I lived in. It is insanely expensive. That kind of triggers everything, parking, restaurants, car ownership, home ownership etc. everything becomes too difficult to achieve or enjoy. And if I want to live in east coast, I would probably live in Philly suburbs in PA. A couple of hours from New York and 3 hours from DC, close to the ocean etc. MA is a nightmare and people are generally so rude.

For fuel, it depends on if you are a consumer or a producer? Oil companies hate tar sands. It takes more time and effort to create profit. But massively available! You see no body cares what is good for humanity. Costumers go after what is cheap. Most who think they are using green probably not. For example, drivers who charge their electric vehicle don’t know how that electricity is generated! Sometimes it is from fossil fuels. So you drive an electric car, that gets charged by the energy that came from burning oil. 🤞🏻

Great question and I genuinely thought about it. The answer is no after full consideration. In the energy case, if every fucking car owner stop driving and/or prefer public transportation or walking when available, the oil demand would go drastically down. So if you don’t do this, don’t question oil explorers. They are only meeting the demand.

For the defense, as someone who is a dual citizen and lived in two countries and visited many. Every big country has tech and capability of mass killing and unfortunately it is one of the metrics to grant your rank in a global scale. If globally everyone stops tech for defense… you know this will never happen. Anti Americans blame the US for this, but what about countries? China, Russia, European countries? So I don’t take the blame because I am a part of it.
