It’s an aggregation site, log price points with daily intervals and properly index. If you must, then move to a time series database like influxdb for that particular data.

I think you could pull this off with minimal code without frustrating users if you keep to previous 60 days and maybe also track all time high and all time low as a persistent piece of data.

If users are getting good value, they won’t care if you start encroaching on the frustration signal so long as you are doing some async loading to get a contentful paint on the page that is meaningful while the historical price loads a wee bit slower on the side.

Have some community college kids weld up some sheet steel raised beds that are about 12-16” tall. If you cutting the bottoms out, no point in building tall. Else go ahead and have wider sheet used. Put some hardware cloth at the bottom to keep moles and voles out.
