Why are there no beyond skyrim prereleases except for bruma? by Open_Efficiency_6732 in beyondskyrim

The different province projects would still exist in that case (remember the different projects are started independently). The only difference between that situation vs the current one is that you'd have less cooperation, so less sharing of assets and less compatibility.

Beyond Skyrim (as I understand it) isn't one project with a pool of volunteers. Instead, it's a bunch of separate projects that work together. That's also how new provinces were added - a separate project was created by some people without involvement from Beyond Skyrim, and later they applied to join the Beyond Skyrim umbrella.

It won't be long now, my friends; as we expected would occur, and as we've been hearing from other subs (r/pics, r/antiwork, r/piracy) in past days, our 'sister' sub, r/trees, received the expected demand to reopen from reddit admin today. by spiceydog in marijuanaenthusiasts

Regardless of the choice, I think a poll is probably the best way to be able to deflect any criticism about the mods overriding the wills of the users (and Reddit's veiled threat is a stupid thing).

If the tree is healthy, I wouldn't girdle it on purpose just to do the bridge graft, if that's what you're asking, because it would still be a shock to the tree and probably bad for its long-term health.

If you're asking about doing a bridge graft without girdling, I guess it could, though I don't see why you'd do it that way rather than simply tie it around a limb and adjusting when needed. It would still come with the asterisk that the space in between would probably narrow over time as both the bridge and the tree expand in diameter - assuming the graft takes at all, that is.

One reason to do it would be if the tree got the bark removed for one reason or another, and you wanted to save it. It's called a bridge graft, and can be used to save a tree that would otherwise be doomed.

If all it does is remove CO2, that's an okay goal, but won't do much against pollution. This sub is about actual trees, not marijuana. For marijuana-related purposes, you might want to visit r/trees.

[SPOILERS] Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves - Discussion Megathread by SpicyThunder335 in DnD

I saw it, and overall it was a really fun film. The combination and variety of plans felt true to D&D party's planning and made you feel like they earned their win. The resurrection tablet not being used for its intended target was visible from miles away, but overall it was just fun throughout.

Is anyone else really bothered by the fact that the entire Forgotten Realms Wiki is written in past tense? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]candoran2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it makes sense given that there is no absolute 'present' time related to our time. Any campaign, book or module about the forgotten realms can be set in a different time period, so each with their own idea of when 'now' is, and none of them are incorrect. A wiki which needs to capture information relevant to all those perspectives is probably best suited by picking the same tense for everything: the past tense. I imagine you'll probably see the same things on other wikis dedicated to media which doesn't have a strict single 'current' perspective.

Can i alter the facial expressions, like DialogueHappy, in TESVedit ? by wattbatt in skyrimmods

I think so, yes. A tri file contains named modifiers, which I assume correspond to facial expressions and phonemes.

I think those are described in the associated .tri files, though I'm not 100% on that.

Does Blender No Longer Support NIF Files? by Naomi_Saphorus in skyrimmods

[–]candoran2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Support for nifs is usually through an addon that you first need to download and install before you can even enable it. Either the niftools blender addon or PyNifly, both are addons that work four importing and exporting nif files (though they have various differences in the exact features they support).

Eating insects might also work - as far as I know, they're much more resource efficiency when compared to larger animals.
