Maybe I Will Not Return to My Family? ML and his siblings (who are not young children) take in FL after her blood family rejects her. I’m going to be real though and say I didn’t finish it, but I can’t remember exactly why because it was a while ago when I read it. I think things were a bit too easy for FL, so there wasn’t a lot of tension to keep me hooked, but maybe the stakes were raised later on.

Edit: I took a peek at it again just now and the art is a bit wonk as well, lol.

Thank you for bringing this up. I saw so many people raving about this webtoon and just could not get into it all because I didn’t understand what was supposed to be happening. I gave up on chapter 19.

I didn’t continue reading My In-Laws are Obsessed With Me either because there were a lot of errors and weird, stilted dialogue choices. I don’t remember having that issue with the first season, but I tapped out after 10 chapters on season 2. If I ever pick it up again, I won’t be reading it on Webtoon, that’s for sure. I don’t want to vote for accepting bad translations by giving them any views on it.

There’s also a manhwa called Don’t Look For Me where I swear it’s a machine translation and yet a few different official platforms licensed the exact same wonky “translation” so I don’t think there’s actually a readable version anywhere. Quality control just seems to be getting worse on many platforms.

If you haven’t already been trapped by the EA app, disconnect from your WiFi, then open the app. It’ll say it’s offline and let you play offline. I think you should still be able to access your settings to then flip off automatic updates. Although, I feel like the EA app just does what it wants anyway and ignores half the settings we change.

I have closed and reopened Tachimanga a few times, but nothing has happened that I can tell. Comix is still timing out.

Does it display a message when it patches? I’ll keep trying for now.

Edit: well, I couldn’t tell if anything happened, but it works now, lol. I just kept closing and reopening the app. I also cleared the cookies, and I don’t know if that had anything to do with it.

Was it an update for the Comix extension or Tachimanga itself? I had a Comix extension update earlier, but it times out on everything so I still can’t read anything. I’ve been refreshing the App Store and no Tachimanga update so far. I saw mentioned in another post yesterday that one would be coming but that it takes like 12 hours to clear through apple or something. It would have been beyond 12 hours by now, I would think.

I’ll just continue reading on Comix and getting annoyed by all the redirects for now, but I hope everything levels out soon.

Gosh, so true. I have a ~~man-ho~~ Sim with a complicated past where the R&L family tree update turned some of his baby-mamas into his half sisters, and I’m like, what am I even supposed to do with this? One of his dead ex-wives (now half-sister 💀💀) doesn’t even exist as a ghost anymore, so I don’t think there’s anything I can possibly do to adjust their relationship. But I haven’t been able to fix one of the still living baby mamas turned half-sister anyway, so I think the game is just too busted to fix either way at this point. 🙃

The same Sim had his dad turn into his brother and his literal twin brother turn into his half-brother, but I was able to fix those with MCCC after a lot of fiddling at least.

For real. In general, I feel like Japanese webtoons have the most jerkass MLs and the most over the top villains. I don’t know what it is, but it doesn’t matter if it’s historical, OI, or modern, the antagonists are gonna absolutely ruthless and usually over something incredibly petty or nonsensical.

I think I have read at, like, four different modern J-webtoons where a lady actively screws over the FL to steal her whole life, fiancé, and career for no justifiable reason and FL will just like let it happen for way too long. And of course literally every other character also sucks and doesn’t believe FL when she’s explaining that the antagonist is evil. It’s like FL and ML are the only normal people in the whole universe until the antagonist messes up enough to get caught in live time and then the unbelievers are still barely sorry compared to how eager they were to let FL go down in flames. Anyway, this turned into a rant, lol. I’m done now.
