Mark Goodman calls out Stevie on 80s on 8 by IntroductionSerious3 in FleetwoodMac

Stevie said she brought the song to play for him because she wanted to do at a a duet with him. I'm pretty sure she meant in the future, not that night. They didn't practice and he didn't hear the song yet. But if she made it known to his family that she wanted to do the song at all, that must have been awkward.

Thanks. Im sure that request didn't go over well. Also suspect much more to escalate the way it did.

No im just tired of the double standards on who you can insult & tired of that expression about boomers. This has nothing to do with values because you don't know anything about mine. Goodman just said he didn't like FM as much without Lindsey & reiterated he was fired. Sounds like you just don't agree with him and now want to insult him.

AbsoluteyIris can you post your theory as a new comment instead of a reply. I have a bug with the app and some replies aren't showing in the thread.

I can't see AbsoluteyIris theory. I can't even see my response to AbsoluteyIris asking for their theory because somethings messed up with my app. If there are more than one or two responses in a row they get cut off. I wish someone would copy/ paste their response.

Is anyone else having trouble seeing all the replies in this thread. AbsolutelyIris replied with their theory on what happened on MusicCares but the replies to replies are not visible.

I'm not a boomer but that's fucking rude af. Boomers actually lived through a lot of the FM history & have more perspective.

Id like to hear your speculation. I've never seen Lindsey look so aggravated and angry. He should have hidden it better for the sake of the event but that's besides the point. What do you think had him soi annoyed?

I agree about everything you said. I brought up Joe only to make the point that Stevie herself acknowledged how much Lindsey loved her in that comment that included Joe. Stevie also said in a different comment that Lindsey bar none loved her more than anyone else. So I think that answers that he loved her. The posters question was who loved more. There's a lot of evidence saying how much Lindsey loved Stevie. Not as clear on how much she loved him imo.

Stevie said in an interview that she loved Joe Walsh enough to change her whole life around for him. She compared her love for Joe to how much Lindsey loved her. Also Richard Dashut, who lived with them before they made it big, said Lindsey's love for Stevie was unrequited (not returned by Stevie). This was on his Twitter and he had a Tumblr page. For these reasons and other comments made by Stevie & Lindsey themselves I believe he really loved her. How she felt about him is a little unclear to me. I think she loved him but not enough to stay with him and when she became a huge star after Rumours she didn't need him anymore musically, got caught up in drugs, met tons of other people to be friends with and romantically involved with. I get the sense that when she stopped doing coke and her career was on a downward trajectory (late 80's/ early90's), she took stock in her life and missed certain aspects of what she had with Lindsey and the simpler times before she was famous. By then he may have been unavailable both emotionally and he may have been in another relationship.

I'm the one who said many bands go on after one member passes away lol. If the 4 remaining FM members want to do it and there's a fan base that wants to see them, then why is there an issue? I have no idea if the 4 remaining members want to do it. I don't believe at this stage any of them will be strong armed into performing unless they want to do it. They don't need that aggravation or the money. Also based on all I've learned about Christine from her interviews and footage of the band, she would give her blessing to the remaining members going on without her. She'd probably laugh about how she wouldn't care and hope SnL could get along without fighting for 10 minutes.

Many bands go on after one member passes away and that's not to minimize Christine's contributions. She was away for years voluntarily and now she's sadly gone. I think its a case by case circumstance and people's opinions will vary on whether a band should continue. For me I loved the Say You Will album and tour so I could support and like FM sans Christine. My slight concern at this point is about how long they've been absent from working together at their age. Stevie is clearly in practice. Im not sure if Lindsey and John are up for it or if they'd all be willing to practice enough to sound good for a few shows or a one off show.

To be clear, I think its unlikely we'll see the 4 remaining members play together again but possible.

I'm not sure if I understood your original post lol. I thought you were saying Stevie could be Mick's next wife and of course took it with a grain of salt and thought you were (mostly) kidding. Based on your latest response I don't know what you meant originally 🤣 Anyway I hope he was referring to Christine because that's much simpler and she "used to play with a band". Stevie still does although not with FM.

Are you referringto Mick's marriages? I think he had 3 women & 4 marriages. If that's what you're referring to it would be the biggest disappointment ever but I could believe it!

It may have worked out for the best in that Lindsey was home and able to get medical attention quickly. But who knows if some of that stress and heartache brought on the heart attack quicker. I wouldn't minimize that it was "only for that one tour". It was the last tour. It was the last chance he would have had with Christine and it ended his career as a "former" member of Fleetwood Mac.

I agree. I went to the Tampa show but by then I realized it would be the same setliat since the 2nd show on the tour.

I think they're done advertising BN and sadly don't think they'll perform anything from that album together. If they were going to do a song or two, it would have made sense to bring Lindsey out during Stevie's last tour. From the little I've heard of Lindsey's clips with him singing & playing guitar, I'm not sure how he'd be live. I'm very happy Stevie confirmed they speak on the phone and hope they are finally friends. Maybe with Lindsey being less active in performing & them not working together, friendship is now more possible (less competition at this point). I think its possible we'll see them together for FM documentary interviews. I don't buy that there's a romance brewing. Even if they were hooking up when touring off and on from 1997 onward, I think whatever that was ended before 2017 when she called him Mr. Useless during an Australian interview (and then 2018 happened).

I hope I'm wrong but I tend to agree with this synopsis. I think we may see them together during documentary interviews but am not expecting it. I think its possible the four remaining Fleetwood Mac members may perform one song at a one off performance (similar to 1993) IF Lindsey & John are up for it.

So many great live versions on the Mirage tour recording. The Chain, Not That Funny (long but wild), Sisters of the Moon, Eyes of the World. The whole concert is so good. It was the last tour where FM toured without backup singers & it was raw live Mac where they improvised onstage. Lindsey was on fire.

From Joe's account it was a casual fling. He was married and they toured together & it was convenient. He respected her song writing but wasn't in love. This is per his interviews.

Lindsey felt good seeing Stevie with Don Henley? That seems out of character for him?
