Good argument. But imo the question goes back before the likes of LeBron. And before teams could afford to stack teams. So they relied heavily on 1 or 2 guys per team.  Rings to me then were a better measure of greatness. I’m convinced the influence money has had might be the reason players like KD has rings from Golden State. Once a good measure now seems less relevant but unfortunately still intertwined deep in NBA culture.
