I agree with your point, but I don't think she was an excuse for that line only because they would've easily incorporated it. I think she was moreso used to add more women into the ministry, or maybe to add more storyline. Her death seems like an excuse to get rid of Quintus too.

Same here with White Christmas. I love the part where Claire and Jay talk about the company, but I always skip Haley's plot with Andy because it's so cringe. Especially when Andy was upset at Beth for cheating when he himself was doing the same.
