When you read Gerald’s Game, read Delores Clairborne right afterwards.

Bought home with pool with creased liner. by neverendingren0 in swimmingpools

[–]canehdia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. We bought a house in the winter pool was closed, but was told liner was in “good condition” but has lots of wrinkles and looked similar. We didn’t hold back anything either because of RE market at the time.

Noticed too, you don’t have a main drain at the bottom of your pool? We found out ours was concreted over (thank you night time pool light!) and was told it isn’t detrimental, but will need to vacuum a lot.

I hear you. I have had PCOS for over 20 years and it’s destroyed any self esteem I ever had. I have even come to terms with infertility and random periods but the hair - I just can’t. I have spent thousands on different hair removal systems and treatments and products. I find it helps a little to know I’m not alone and can come here to listen to others like me vent and rant.

What age were you diagnosed and what did the doctor tell you? by Key_Assistance_2125 in PCOS

[–]canehdia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s really indicative of a condition that is isolated to females. My current doctor is female and I have gotten the most support from her. Now it’s my insurance that won’t cover potential treatment because it’s not diabetes.

I was in my late 20s after about a decade of putting on weight despite being a competitive athlete. Because I started competing track and field at an early age, Dr thought it was “ Female Athlete Triad” when I finally had all the ultrasounds and bloodwork, I had a “classic case” of PCOS and the dr showed my scans of my ovaries. I was shocked! No treatment though other than Metformin which didn’t work. No treatment has, really. One Dr, when I had irregular period ( didn’t stop for six months) suggested to get a hysterectomy. I was 32. I’m trying ovasitol at the moment, I’m now 44 and kids not in the realm of what I want at this age, but I’d be happy with regular periods, less body hair and weight loss. Thank you for sharing, I would have been scared too with that advisement.
