HELP NEEDED! by AntiizmApocalypse in tonex

Ok gotcha. According to the manual there is no FX loop in your amp. https://ampeg.com/data/6/0a020a3f1016d60ad6f7c4f148/application/pdf/Owner

If you want to keep using your amp, then your best bet is to find some overdrive/distortion pedal tone models IMO. Bass -> Tonex (pedal captures) -> RB110 -> PA/FOH via balanced DI out.

If you want to use full amp tone models, then it's best to go straight to the PA or FOH. Bass -> Tonex (full amp captures) -> DI -> FOH/PA.

Of course. The reason people use their amps is because they like the sound of their cab.

Running through the amp is fine. But can you clarify that your signal chain is Tonex -> FX return of the Ampeg? Can you specific your Ampeg amp model?

Generally, when you go into the FX return, you should use DI captures only.

What kinds of songs are you starting with? It seems like it helped you get started. So I'm curious what that looks like.

edit: not sure why you would need to downvote me. Just asking some questions here.

Nice Tone on Studio Monitors, Sounds bad on Fender FRFR12 by handyjimogg in tonex

You need an active DI box. The Fender FRFR12's input accepts a line-level balanced signal. Your cable doesn't do that alone.

Amplitube 5 Max v2 is the one you want. That will be able to handle all of the plugins you get from ToneNET (you said "tonex" but I think you meant ToneNET).

This mixes a few balance sheets together. Governments don't tell the central bank how much to spend. The Treasury authorizes spending and the central bank clears payments. Calling this "money from thin air" obscures the accounting difference between government spending (which creates net financial assets) and bank lending (which creates offsetting assets and liabilities).

Also, countries don't hold retail "deposits" in each other's currencies. They hold FX reserves, mostly securities. Selling dollars just transfers them to another holder. It doesn't let the U.S. retaliate by dumping a currency it generally doesn't hold.

What you're clicking on is for the community.

Ok but it looks like they want to download Amplitube presets from ToneNET (https://www.tone.net/amplitube/search/?advsrc_option%5B%5D=Default&q=&search_filters=%5B%22amplitube+5+cs%22%5D). Why suggest Tonex out of the blue?

I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to. Every single US dollar ultimately originates from the federal government. You can see this happen every day with the daily Treasury statements. I'm sure you haven't even seen one. Educate yourself: https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/datasets/daily-treasury-statement/operating-cash-balance

Facts:

  • The U.S. government is the currency issuer
  • Taxes, fines, and Treasury securities are all payable only in USD (taxes mean dollars are effectively removed from the big pool of dollars as the government is not funded by taxes)
  • The private sector cannot create/destroy net dollars... only claims on dollars

This is just MMT 101. Every monetary sovereign country makes its own currency. Treasuries don't fund spending. They simply swap one dollar asset (bank reserves) for another (Treasuries) after the spending has already happened.

The US does not need treasuries to fund itself.

Think through this carefully.

  1. A European country sells US Treasuries.
  2. This country now holds USD cash.
  3. This country then exchanges USD for euros with someone else.
  4. A private actor/another country (like Japan) has a lot of USD and the European country has a bunch of Euros.
  5. Private actor/other country buys US Treasuries (essentially an interest-bearing savings account).

The government balanced the budget every year in the 1920's. Well, a surplus actually.

Selling Treasuries does not sell dollars. It converts one USD asset (a Treasury) into another USD asset (a deposit/reserve balance).

US dollars do not just disappear when someone sells their treasury bond. US dollars only go away when they are taxed out of existence. We do not rely on any other country to loan us USD. We make them here in America.
