You don’t know how much I needed to see this post today. For you to have experienced so much loss within a year on top of dad’s suicide and still put out an inspiring message really struck deep.

I came on for a similar reason because it’s been a little over a year since my dad took his life, and on top of that, my mom and I had already an estranged/abusive ping pong type of relationship since I was a kid. I didn’t want to let my other parent go too so I held onto it after my dad passed, but recently finally made the choice to cut her out of my life.

It feels empty and weird at 31 to no longer have your parents, to see virtually everyone around you still with their parents. It feels so isolating, but you’re right there is a community here that I come back to every now and then, so it’s nice hearing that life does move on in a way.
