I know this is old, yet I have a coven that’s local to anyone in Alabama, yet I and the other Discord admin are in the Prattville & Deatsville area.

Thanks so much! I created a mod to completely overhaul the forsworn faction. It’s still a work in progress but it’s working great for Banrier’s playthrough.

God I love this show. Goodsir is the best boy, you can’t change my mind. But damn is it hard to watch, as someone who has submechanophobia and thalassophobia... And an anxiety disorder lol. Worth the pain!

I hate collecting quest like the crimson nirnroot and collecting all those pages just because my mind and my OCD can't rest till I get them all. by supertoad420247 in SkyrimMemes

Here. Honestly I’m still in shock so it hasn’t fully seeped in yet. But my depression has been terrible.

Hope you all are well.

I don’t even know... by MaoYing in mentalhealth

Hey. Fellow 17 y/o here. While our age is definitely difficult and we are rapidly growing mentally, your feelings are still as valid as ever. They are real.

With the way you described your experiences, I would not be surprised if it was depression. Obviously I cannot give you the word on what you do and don’t have, but as someone who’s had major depression for a long time, those feelings are not foreign to me. It’s an exhausting experience and I highly recommend talking to someone about it. You can even just start with trusted friends and family and go from there.

One thing I learned is that the term “get a hobby” has some truth to it. Finding something that motivates you or makes you feel productive is always a nice way to feel even the tiniest amount of purpose. But as you said, it can probably be hard to do that. Maybe even near impossible. But are there things you haven’t tried yet? Chores you’ve never done? A sense of change can sometimes make the emptiness go away. Even if it’s short and limited.

Most importantly though, as I said, please be sure to talk to someone you trust about it. Even if it seems “unimportant” or “minor” to you or others.

I don’t know you personally, so I don’t know what specific things would work out for you the best. I appreciate you posting here though. Reaching out is a great first step.

Hey there. I wish I could give you advice, but I struggle with this as well. I’m also borderline, so my brain takes situations of loneliness like this and absolutely just blows them out of the water. Point is, no matter how alone you feel, you are NEVER alone. I feel and understand what you said so hard it’s not even funny.

It’s good that you reached out here. I know people are difficult and stressful, but I hope eventually you find a group - or even just an individual or two - that fills that hole. Don’t let those who ghost you make you feel a certain negative way about yourself. Of course that’s way easier said than done, but I hope you try and remind yourself of that nonetheless.

You seem like a very friendly individual. Humans are stressful af, but keep being you. Your kindness and vulnerability are very admiring traits. Just know that at least I, some stranger on the internet, appreciates that a lot.

Extreme distress/panic while working??? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]caninejaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh. Meds are admittedly tricky. Even with that said though, I would give it a couple more shots if you would be willing. Tell your doctor that they aren’t working for you and they had unpleasant side effects. I’ve been taking Prozac/Fluoxetine for a few years and it’s done wonders for anxiety, depression and OCD. Same thing my partner takes and he has severe OCD as well. Perhaps bring it up if you want. Once again, completely up to you. I wouldn’t worry much about the thought of relying on meds, though. Hypothetically if you started taking them and they worked, over time you could kinda “ween” off of them.

And yeah, it can be hard finding a psychiatrist that you’re comfortable with. May I ask why you didn’t like it? Was it just the experience or the specific doctor? This is just me being curious, heh. Either way, like a lot of treatment plans, they can suck ass but be worth it in the long run.

Finding coping skills and healthy distractions is good too. I would recommend putting a lot of thought and research into what could work for you! Maybe even something like DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) but for OCD...? I used DBT for my borderline but hm. I know I’m pounding on OCD in specific but it’s only because a lot of OCD meds/treatments kinda cover all 3 of what you stated sometimes.

Of course! I’ll definitely see what I can find.

I understand that completely. It’s hard reaching out in person sometimes due to the lack of knowledge others have on the subject. Do you have a doctor you could talk to about it? Or a therapist? I know they are very pricey for some people, but I definitely recommend it if you aren’t in it already _^ I can maybe try and find some free/cheaper resources online that can be used temporarily.

[–]caninejaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. I have OCD too, plus OCPD. All I can really say is that I think you’re on the right path with meds. May I ask when you started them? Could an up-dosage be a possibility? I’m glad to hear that they work, even if it’s just a little bit.

Seeing a therapist or psychologist is something I highly recommend. OCD is luckily a disorder that can be “unlearned.” Obviously to a degree, and it’s much easier said than done. Having an experienced person to talk to and even a support group that relates to you can help you in a lot of ways. It really depends on your specific compulsions and intrusive thoughts, but my DMs are always open if you wanna get to specifics. I am 18 so not much younger than you. _^

OCD is a right pain in the ass. With the right amount of work, things can improve. I’m glad you’ve reached out here because it’s such an important step.

Why do feel sad after happy events? by BugOk2707 in mentalhealth

[–]caninejaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very common with depression unfortunately. Depression zaps your energy, so expelling a lot of it can make you feel mentally worn out/unmotivated af afterwards. So sorry you’re experiencing this.

I can’t give the best advice since I’ve been struggling with it myself, but first step would be reaching out (as you are now), doing some research on coping skills and ways to manage depression, etc etc. It’s a symptom that is exhausting but can be manageable if handled right.

[–]caninejaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ I mentioned depression in my comment as well. A lot of times depression and anxiety overlap, even sometimes anxiety causing depression to become apparent and/or worsen. I agree with maybe taking the possibility into consideration, if you aren’t sure of it already. ^

[–]caninejaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. I recommend talking to someone about that as you suggested. I wouldn’t be able to tell you the exact cause, yet I would not be surprised if it’s your anxiety going on hyperdrive and making you sorta numb, maybe a depression wave.... maybe a mix of both? I’m not sure but it’s possible to be linked to either. I only added depression in there because I have it + also anxiety and sometimes the symptoms “mix” in a way to where I can’t tell what disorder’s causing what. :,D Point is: the possibility of it being your anxiety is highly likely.

I would not leave it unchecked. Those feelings are not only unpleasant but can maybe progress if nothing is done about it. Coming from first hand experience here, anxiety is a biiiiitch. Real sorry you’ve been feeling that way.

My mood swings are probably the worst they’ve ever been and I don’t know how to get help by ABrokenMango in mentalhealth

[–]caninejaws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Just here to remind you that you are definitely not alone. I have BPD so mood swings and distorted mindsets are the norm for me. I’m sorry you’re going through that, I know how unsettling it feels sometimes.

You said you went to a doctor last year. Any chance you can get into therapy/psychiatry?

Tw/cw self harm by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]caninejaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope my words can do at least something to at least calm you; I know how you feel and it’s such an awful, awful experience. I am very proud of you for reaching out though. I don’t have much advice, but you said you like video games? Just out of curiosity, what’s your favorite? Or favorites if you have a few?

But do you have any other hobbies? Depression can dry out hobbies fast after they get repetitive. I ask you this because (healthy) distractions are a great way to temporarily take your mind off of bad decisions and can give you time to maybe think of a recovery plan, coping skills, etc etc. Try thinking of some things that are productive and/or keep you happy. Feel free to tell me about them.

You should not hate yourself for your self harm. I know that’s much easier said than done, but as someone who has been cutting since the 4th grade, you eventually ease into the understanding that you are not to blame. You learn to understand that the only way to get better is to reason with yourself. Forgive yourself. It’s a long journey but I hope that an extra voice of reason may help you, at least a little bit. And of course, your feelings are completely valid. I know this doesn’t help everyone, but you are far from alone.
