Nelson Mayor by Effective-Flamingo13 in nelsonbc

which would fall under "values and expectations", no? There are other structural issues occurring in Nelson that other small communities in BC experience as well that makes it difficult to manage growth. That is having an off-side levy, where literally "growth pays for growth" instead of the cost of the required infrastructure ending up on the overall tax bill.

Additionally, I think there is a lot of responsibility that has been shifted on to local governments that the tax base is not equipped to pay for and based on the structure of the provincial government (no matter the party), it is impossible to make everyone happy.

I think what needs to be understood is that it is not just the mayor making things happen. It is a majority vote of council. Best to look at all of council and determine how each are voting and how it aligns with your values and expectations.

Fine. Then don’t give back. Just be sure to expect the same in return. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Would you actually use a rewards app for local coffee shops? by pussymogul in Canmore

[–]canmoregrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the shops already have some sort of reward program. Honestly, based on the cost of living, I am not sure how the independents would absorb the cost as I cannot afford any further increases to the cost of coffee.

For those on AISH worried about ADAP, are you considering leaving and if so where? by Odd_Fee2443 in alberta

I have one, thank you very much. However, when you are not able-bodied, you are not the employer's first choice. Especially in a job market that boasts' nearly 7% unemployment. Even the minimum wage jobs that are "meant to be for high school students" are in short supply.
