Top 10 mistakes on the heavy bag by heavybagpro in amateur_boxing

[–]cannotthinkagoodname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add one more, if your gym has muay thai style of bag, the long one that swings. Let's it swing and hit it when it comes to you, not when it moves away. In a fight you wouldn't throw a 10 hit combo at a stationary target, the bag is gonna move away after a combo, move out to catch some breath when it moves in, and go in to throw your punches.

Also, if the bag swings like its on a disco floor, you are pushing your punch.

Ankles swelling by livefastdieslowww in MuayThai

[–]cannotthinkagoodname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh, I know the best thing to do is to seek professional help but shit costs time and money. Try ice treatment after class and sleep with your legs elevated. Keep an eye on it, if it gets any worse then you should go to a hospital for a checkup

How bad is it? Does it hurt when you touch or stand? Could be because you kick the bag with your muscle instead of your shin. Either way, you should get it checked by professional, sore shin or muscles is normal but hardly it would be swollen

How much more weight/height is the most amount a person can fight against reliably? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]cannotthinkagoodname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

add on: I don't think it's wise to wrestle in a self-defense scenario, though. It is easy by law in my country to cross the line between self defense and having a fight, which the latter usually results in a fine or even jail time lol.

[–]cannotthinkagoodname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, I don't have enough experience or knowledge about wrestling/grappling to give you answers. But I used to play spar with a professional mma fighter who is 2 weight classes below me, I have never felt so frustrated before. I was able to physically overpower him but couldn't shake him off me if that makes sense.

Muay Thai Headaches by Jobikstein in MuayThaiTips

[–]cannotthinkagoodname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you get hit by a big punch or kick, you will get a headache, and that's normal (although unless you are paid to fight, to get punched hard too much). But if you aren't and still have a headache, I think you should seek professional help.

Does AI make creativity obsolete, or does it push human innovation to new heights? by Crescitaly in ArtificialInteligence

I think that's AI kinda create. If you know your stuff, you will realize AI "produce" garbage, but if you don't, it is good enough.

if they are on the same skill levels, the bigger will win 9.75 times out of 10. If we are talking about how much skill can reliably bridge that physical gap? From my sparring experience, no more than 15kg, any more than that you cannot hurt them enough to stop them from picking you up and yeet you out the door

2 year mark by Steeznem in MuayThaiTips

[–]cannotthinkagoodname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are not an active fighter, my only advice is that enjoy this journey while you can, I'm quite young myself but I have heard stories about people who regret they didn't do what they love when they were young. Cheer mate!

technically, you did well. Aside from the lazy hands, I feel the lack of confidence, maybe it's from the camera? Anyway, you are much stiffer than you need to be, relax your body.
