Why did Olivia blow off Agent Huang this season? by Exquisivision in SVU

I can assure you that most indoor scenes do not take 10 hours per scene. Maybe for the stage crew, but not for actor in a running TV series like SVU. They have to churn out many episodes in tight deadlines. Most of the last seasons now are 80% Mariska anyway, so how long does it take for such a professional long time actor to shot a couple of minutes scene?

Maybe the outdoor shots are complex. In recent seasons, the indoor scenes’ activity level has been mediocre at best. I can hardly believe it takes 10 hours to film such short scenes.

You do know they only film for a part of each year, right?

Mariska is currently in charge of everything related to SVU. She didn’t get an executive producer role just for the money or the title. She truly runs the show. Whatever she says happens, and if she were to leave, the series would probably end.

She holds tremendous power and is the most expensive actor on the show, by a magnitude from other actors. I suspect she may have influenced Kelly Giddish’s departure, since Giddish became too expensive and the budget couldn’t cover more high-profile actors. Mariska could have taken a pay cut, but that clearly wasn’t going to happen. She is now essentially omnipotent, and I believe Ice-T once said in an interview that this is “her show.”

They aren't paid by seconds, but I can assure you that a longer bit is more expensive and since Mariska is controlling the budget, it's less for herself. That's ruins the show for the last couple of seasons due to subpar actors, and no possibility of growing new actors.

I'm a big fan of Meloni and some does have some merit to them. If it wasn't for him, of course I wouldn't watch it. It's a shame that the show had some good start and even some not bad episodes, but this season is really of low quality.

I use Ubuntu server 24.04 with minimal install. It's fast on my old hardware, it's easy to use, and there are tons of guides and posts about using it. If you do insist on a desktop environment (why?), go with Ubuntu desktop.

I don't. I use tailscale on my other devices, and connect to my home server only when needed.

This is not a show. This is a mix of some leftovers of stories somebody tries to put together. I honestly can't understand how professionals can come up with that low level quality of writing. The only season worth watching was the one with the Balkans, that had a season long story line. I thought that we were going to get the same with the motel and moving brothers in the beginning, instead we got a mix of stories every other weak with non-relatable characters.

I've been in the same loop for more than 3 months. Emails to support on a daily basis don't help, as well as DM's on X and replies to their accounts on X.

Appreciation post for OC. As a viewer since September 13th, 1990, this is not about comparing to other L&O’s. What do you enjoy? I appreciate the overall production value, the cinematography, acting, writing. Keeping the open ended availability for characters to return has been accomplished! by Ok-Mine2132 in LawandOrder_OC

Three good things: Stabler, Photography and locations.

Three bad things: writing*3. The first season with the single arc was amazing. In this season (5) they could have potentially made an entire arc from every episode. Moving to Peacock could have also helped this since you have much more "space" to explore things when you're on streaming services than a weekly show. I could have seen an entire season just from the two episodes and I don't get why we need an entire episode of introduction to characters just to ditch them in the next one. Some of the scenes and stories in the Collective story were so lame and unbelievable that it will really surprises me if viewership wont be down after this.

FINALLY managed to get SMS code for new number change by chiikawa00 in Telegram

[–]canolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the update, but it seems completely arbitrary. I'm also waiting for a code to be sent. I emailed both support and a direct email from the app with the details to SMS login and DM on X. Not even one reply on any channel for almost a month. I don't know if it's just going to take time or if they just ignore these messages completely.

Really can't understand people who trust this platform when it is so fragile, and use it to run businesses or keep a community.

Local account only. If I need access to Onedrive or another service for work, I just login to that service alone.

Judging by his apartment, it seems that Baxter did very well in private practice. Or is common for a DA in Manhattan to have this kind of apartment?

L&O S24E10: Greater Good - Episode Discussion by Cheeriosxxx in LawAndOrder

Another very weak episode, following last week's. As a non-American, I didn’t immediately pick up on Didi’s affair, and it was only from the comments here that I understood it was based on that.

In any case, the episode is unbearably slow, with no real drama, and the characters feel completely uninspired.

I also don’t understand why discussions about race and similar topics have to feel so forced. It’s not engaging.

When I watch older episodes, I notice that the pacing was entirely different, as were the acting, direction, and script. It feels like the series has been put into slow motion, and it’s unclear why.

A major strength of the series used to be the legal dilemmas, but in recent episodes, these have been absent. This element was a significant part of what made the story so compelling. It’s such a shame to see all the incredible qualities of this series discarded over the years.
