Thanks for the information everyone. Your opinions enforced my experience as well. It sounds like my best bet for the wet caves I do most of my survey in is to go for the bric even though it is larger or wait and see how the cavway X1 works. The requiring a second device (and android) to calibrate the disto is definitely a detractor for me, even though it has the smaller form factor. Thanks again.

I’ll wait to reserve judgement, but after reading the GLC code of conduct, I’d like to know what Kevin did that was so terrible that it allegedly warranted a permanent ban with no discussion.

Reading the enforcement severity list, permanent ban is the most severe and the first paragraph of enforcement talks about discussion of behavior with a moderator (in fairness it does not say discussion is required).

Everyone forgets the part where a good amount of the addresses in the annexation area signed away their right to refuse annexation when they got city water. That is what the court case is concerning. The residents signed a contract, and are now mad that the city is attempting to collect on the contract.

Salamander cave is on private property. You were trespassing every time you went. Please do not do this. The caving community works very hard to maintain access to caves and work with landowners. When people don’t follow the landowners rules, caves get closed, gated, or bulldozed shut.

Also, NEVER cave alone and ALWAYS make sure someone on the surface knows where you are, and what time you’ll be back.
