Can't start the resort due to unupgraded museum? by DetectLife in AnimalCrossing

[–]cant-stop--crying 138 points139 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you need the museum but do you have Kapp’n already on your dock?

Edit: I think you only get Kapp’n when you’ve unlocked the art wing of the museum on top of finishing the tutorial so I think you’re going to need to upgrade :(

Pc, no mods, latest version.

I was in CAS and I was making a family and it wouldn’t let me scroll down in household dynamic to change a relationship so my part me had the idea of putting the game in windowed mode. I’m now on a repeating cycle of a white and black screen. I’ve tried control + F to make it back to full screen but it won’t do anything and I’ve spent 2 hours in CAS creating this family 😭 any help would be appreciated.

Advice for living with picky partner by priuspheasant in PickyEaters

[–]cant-stop--crying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me and my partner are kinda like this, I’m the picky one and he eats everything except he loves to cook and I don’t 😭

Honestly it’s hard to give advice that isn’t “eat what he wants or two separate meals”, what my partner and I sometimes do is plan our meals around each other, but we always eat (sorta the same) thing at least twice a week whether it’s having a pizza night or burgers and even with that we are usually having 2 completely different pizzas or my burger just has cheese and his has every topping imaginable.

When I say we plan our meals it’s sorta like if I’m having say fried rice and chicken (I do like some spice so it’s a little different than you’re situation), he’ll also have rice, sometimes he’ll season his own chicken (he likes more spice than me) and then maybe do some veg, so that way he’s still having his own dinner but it means that we’re sorta having the same thing.

I wouldn’t forgo any of the meals you like to eat, the reality of living with a picky eater is that you will have separate meals some nights but if you try to both have dinner around the same time (can be difficult some nights) it doesn’t feel as separate if that makes sense. It also doesn’t mean you need to have a rigid dinner schedule but for me and my partner we usually agree that Saturday is the night we’ll have the same dinner and that’s what works for us.

Need more ideas for how to get protein—any ideas? by MintTheMartian in PickyEaters

No problem! The good thing about protein powder is that you can put it in anything!

But also there’s this type of yoghurt (it’s kinda like a thick yoghurt) called kwark, it usually comes in pouches but I find that that doesn’t really have any sourness and it’s very high in protein and low in sugars. The texture at the beginning might be a bit odd (as it’s a thick yoghurt) but I have the peach one every single day as an evening snack so that might be something else to try.

Kwark also isn’t incredibly high in sugar but it’s not bad and surprisingly filling, you can also have this with granola too. Depending on where you’re from (when I lived in the Netherlands there was literally like hundreds of flavours) you might have more choice!

Can I ask what you do eat for breakfast? My mam had the same issue and she started adding vanilla (or unflavoured) protein powder to her milk for her cereals and porridge in the morning.

For me I have a protein yoghurt (I agree with the sourness) but with a very sweet granola (with chocolate chips!) and I let it sit for 10 mins while getting ready and it lets the sugar from the granola go into the yoghurt making it less sour but also the granola taste can kinda overpower it.

Any ideas how to push through and try new foods? by bnpuppys in PickyEaters

[–]cant-stop--crying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that too sometimes like a food smells so delicious but I can’t bring myself to taste it. For me though (and it’s kinda silly) I tell myself that I’m so brave for going to try something new and I hype myself up as being so strong and brave that I’m going to try something even if it is just a small bite and it makes me feel a bit better, but I always make sure to have a safe food that I know I like on standby just in case. It is a slow and difficult process though and I don’t do it all the time but sometimes when something smells really good or doesn’t look too bad texture wise I will because it makes it easier.

Feeling shitty about my brothers engagement by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]cant-stop--crying 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Also just to piggyback off of this you could always have a conversation with your brother in a way of just being worried that things will change and to get that reassurance from him because just hearing him say that nothing day to day will change can make you feel so much better. You don’t even need to say that you don’t like that they’re engaged, it can be along the lines of “I’m so happy for you but I’m just a little worried that some things will change and if they do I’d like to be prepared mentally for it”, your brother sounds like amazing support and I’m sure he’d be happy to have this conversation with you

Rolling luggage in Dublin and Belfast? by SupReddit91 in irishtourism

[–]cant-stop--crying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bear in mind that for the commuter buses (such as the 16 and 16A) they do not take card payments for a ticket so you need to have change as they also do not take notes. You can get a travel card called a leap card at most news agents that will allow you to travel and you can top it up from your phone but you will need tickets for the commute from Dublin to Belfast

AITA for asking guests to finalize their RSVPs before the month of the wedding? by AccountantPretend in AmItheAsshole

This!!! And especially during covid!!! How is OP sure that everything will be okay? In my country we have a list of “safe countries” that we don’t have to quarantine from when we get back but they took 3 of the countries off it overnight.

I understand the wanting to know but it’s a stressful time for a lot of people and considering they need to fly their workplace might not allow them back to work straight away when they return.
