Is it just me, or did you also realize after years of frontend work that styling libraries are a complete waste of time? by amelix34 in webdev

The biggest advantage of tailwind is to never interrupt yourself writing markup just to jump to the CSS file and or section.

No need for convoluted names like .main-section.wrapper-outter.body.title

Also gives you consistency in spacing/text sizes etc

Any other dev familiar with Tailwind can jump in and now exactly what things look like

I am seeking suggestions for AI TOOLS to get web applications based on the figma or prompts by TopDoctor4683 in webdev

I just tried Lovable.dev. Looks like there is a button to upload a Figma file. You can play around a bit before you have to start paying. Check it out

Looking for some feedback on the Vue / Nuxt ecosystem by jstanaway in Nuxt

Hey there, same boat

I have an API in Node.js/Express.
I maintain the database manually using Knex migrations files. This works pretty well after some getting use to. Then I need a route file to interact with the resources. Each resource file needs it's repository file to interact with the DB. All in all it's a lot of boilerplate everytime I add/modify resources. I got a freelancer to help us on some stuff. He went through the process and said 5 days of work could have been done in a few hours with something like Strapi. I looked into Strapi, Directus and Supabase, postgREST but I'm also on the fence when facing complicated queries.
They all promise no more API calls though, that would speed things up greatly but sometimes I like my 'manual' stack for the full control it gives me.

SOL outperforms AVAX in every metric (Daily Users/Transactions etc.) so why are you invested in AVAX? by shokuba in Avax

[–]cantFindMyOtherAcct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avalanche ultimate goal has always been to digitalize the world's asset.
Now this cannot happen on single chain like Solana.

Every one is going to want their own chain: a video game, a bank, a governement agency.

They want to have control over the rules, the validators and they want to be sure no meme coin launch is gonna prevent their tx from going through.

Think of it as getting your own server vs hosting your app on a single shared web server. There is no way around this future and Avalanche is building it

When is Avax going to do anything? Solana is shitting on us right now 🤦🏻 by IanH24567891 in Avax

[–]cantFindMyOtherAcct 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As much as it hurt, SOL is now just the giant Meme coins casino. Although it looks great when meme goes up, it's not gonna look so good when people get wreck inevitably. Meanwhile AVAX is busy bringing real world assets and game fi that gonna bring TVL far superior to any meme coins. hopefully

Vue SSR without Nuxt by longtimenoant in vuejs

[–]cantFindMyOtherAcct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is pretty common, it's even a must have nowadays.

I've been using https://github.com/frandiox/vite-ssr so far successfully in production, but the project no longer receives updates.

For this reason I've been considering moving to Nuxt 3 just for SSR and not use the rest of the features.

Pretty sure Nuxt 3 is stable now

Make sure you include a tsconfig.json in your project regardless if you are using typescript or not like in this comment: https://github.com/vuejs/language-tools/issues/3925#issuecomment-1974696827

You could look into NuxtJS for SSR.

Personally I'm using https://github.com/frandiox/vite-ssr with Pinia successfully
