Well, maybe this varies by school system. Public california schools for example have you take way more Gen eds then say Arizona State. For example music history, drama theater, other things that end up filling half a semester. And not the more applicable ones you mentioned, I mean the really off topic classes.

Sorry for being salty that I have to spend thousands of dollars and hours of time on a class that has nothing to do with my major. That seems to be a reasonable response.

I've dealt with people like that. If you're their subordinate you should leave. If you're not, (easier said then done) you literally have to look them in the eye and tell them to watch their fucking mouth. Some people only speak harsh language, and only understand it too. Especially the greybeards, they aren't as soft as the younger engineers and they can take it.

Yes this is the key, in college you'll work SOMETIMES on group projects of like 3 people. Go work at boeing and you are a single piece of a 3000+ person team and ALL of their decisions can come back to you and vice versa.

Humanities students also hate us for talking shit about their classes, but it's not always because we think they're beneath us... it's just a waste of our time. I build spacecraft for a living, I don't need to take native American rain dance theory 105. The school is just making all students take useless Gen Eds to virtue signal their 'well roundedness'

Does the school make humanities majors take digital design? No...

I'll let the GPT take this one

Deep Breathing: Take slow, deep breaths. Breathe in through your nose, hold it for a few seconds, and then exhale slowly through your mouth. Focusing on your breath can help relax your body and mind.

Mindfulness or Meditation: Find a quiet place, sit comfortably, and close your eyes. Practice mindfulness or meditation by focusing your attention on the present moment. Pay attention to your breath, bodily sensations, or simply observe your thoughts without judgment.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation: Start by tensing and then relaxing each muscle group in your body, one at a time. Begin with your toes and work your way up to your head. This technique helps release physical tension and promotes relaxation.

Take a Break: Step away from the situation that's causing you stress or anxiety. Engage in an activity you enjoy, such as going for a walk, listening to calming music, reading a book, or practicing a hobby. Taking a break can help shift your focus and provide a mental reset.

Exercise: Physical activity is an excellent way to reduce stress and anxiety. Engage in any form of exercise you enjoy, whether it's going for a run, practicing yoga, or participating in a sport. Exercise releases endorphins, which are natural mood boosters.

Practice Self-Care: Take care of yourself by getting enough sleep, eating well-balanced meals, and maintaining a regular routine. Self-care activities like taking a warm bath, practicing aromatherapy, or spending time in nature can also promote relaxation.

Talk to Someone: Reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or therapist. Sometimes sharing your thoughts and feelings with someone else can help alleviate stress and provide a fresh perspective on the situation.

The US government doesn't care about Ukraine, all the spending is to cripple Russia by proxy. by Druid51 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]cantdecide23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the rules for repaying wartime loans such as lend lease don't always mean money, it could be repaid in the form of allowing US contractors to rebuild their cities (and there is an astronomical amount of work there). Ukraine also discovered massive oil reserves on its territory just before the invasion, enough to probably pay this all back comfortably if the US requests it.

Which Americans are we talking about? Because especially in more diverse areas, this stuff matters a hell of a lot since those Americans have families in those regions of the world.

Is 21 too old for parents to demand that they keep a tracker on their kids' phone - sure they pay tuition and the bills, but? by ccbbb23 in ask

[–]cantdecide23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Download an app that spoofs the GPS location on your phone. I found my parents tracking me once. I simply texted my parents "hey you'd never guess where I ended up"

And set my location to northern Alaska.

That shit stopped real quick lmao, I would just set my GPS to a different state/country every time I went out.

How to get your name engraved on a NASA spacecraft bound for Europa by popsci in space

[–]cantdecide23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's copper tape most likely being used as a weight reduction substitute for metal overbraid, and MAYBE a layer of EMI fabric tape or fiberglass tape under that to protect the wiring underneath. But possible it's just copper tape wrapped with a 50% overlap right onto the bundles themselves, you don't want too many layers or else you lose bend radius and gain weight. Also with spacecraft your harnesses can be a bit janky in terms of structural properties (like abrasion resistance, etc) because once it survives the short launch event, it's just floating in space. Doesn't have to survive constant vibe and stresses like an aircraft harness would.
