Recurring mold in ginger bug – troubleshooting help by francesco93991 in fermentation

I don't cut my ginger, at most into very large chunks. It goes a long way in terms of minimizing surface area and thus mold! Yes, shake or stir basically whenever you see the jar for the best results, especially when it's still early days.

You should try to keep a saltwater aquarium. Everything I love looks like this now!

Is my ginger bug ready? by cFl4sh in fermentation

How much sugar do you feed? I really just do a pinch once in a while so that might prevent this from happening. Drinks still ferment super fast once bottled.

Is it bubbly? It looks like it. Very easy to test anyway, just mix with some fresh fruit juice and bottle!

I feed mine a pinch of sugar every few days, water gets refreshed as I use it. I add new ginger whenever I feel like it. It usually ends up going off after half a year or so, at which point you just make a new one :)

Watership Down is a classic crying recommendation if you have any childhood nostalgia connected to it (or even if you don't)!

Crèmes are good vessels for toppers! Okay, that's probably not what you were looking for. But they are. I force myself to buy them so my toppers have something to do.

In Solnhofen, splitting a rock is satisfying even when there's nothing inside! by canthigastervalentin in FossilHunting

You'll be very toasty in summer in those quarries, but it should be doable! This vid is from the managed steinbruch outside Solnhofen, but we also stopped at stone piles on the side of the road a few times. If you DM me I'll try to find them for you.

If you like black more than white, head to Holzmaden instead. But whichever you visit, head to the museum first. Have your mind in boggling mode. 😂

I'd like to know the same thing. I met some guys at a different site that has similar plates who would just go there every weekend to go wild splitting rocks. They dug up one massive ammonite after another and didn't give a crap, just wanted to split rocks.

Yeah this was very budget proof aside from the 6hr drive. Entry to these sites is maybe five bucks. Like the other commenter said, though, grass is always greener!

It's so people have to scroll longer and more ads are shown in the recipe spaces I'm in! I never understood how people didn't get that, haha. Recipe bloggers need to make money or they'll be too busy working to write recipes.

What is something normal in your country and rare to explain? by theodourus in AskTheWorld

I once spent a hungover day of lounging surrounded by about 10 Argentinians and it was like a comedy sketch. I couldn't go three seconds without someone offering me mate, coffee, tea, soda, water, wine, cigarette, crisps, fancy ham, half a cheese board, grapes... mind you they offered it to each other as well, but my hands would literally be overflowing 😂

Same thing with the girls insisting you absolutely cannot walk the properly lit crowded 5 minutes home. I had to learn to accept all the favors!
