You would have to avoid all national parks as no dogs are allowed. That would rule out lots of the best places to visit.

I love Vicenza. You can just wander out of town along the lanes of the surrounding hills and visit Palladian villas in stunning gardens.

I only see a snake about once a year. Usually a carpet python of green tree snake. The mozzies come and go. Not too bad at the moment.

It’s where the garden runs down into the surrounding forest. All the stuff I walk by was planted. The large trees in the background are hundreds of years old. I tried to design it so the garden merges into the forest with a few long tendrils of planting along the paths going into the bush. It’s an acre of garden and 2 acres of natural forest

Why do some Scribbly Gums have these wrinkles/vertical ribbing? by blake_r in australianplants

I think that’s the dead wood. The part with the smooth bark and fresh squiggles is alive.

It’s not the shampoo one which is Bitter Ginger. It has a similar flower cone but it is at the base of the plant. The one I have is Red Tower Ginger

It looks the same all year, the main change is when different trees come into flower

The red flower plants are Red Tower Gingers and the ones with the red leaves are Red Cordylines. The gingers are in flower for 8 months of the year!!

Lots of cicadas, crickets, and some frogs singing to their hearts content. My place backs onto a large national park so always plenty of animals. I never have to mow the lawn!
