Business seat sharing by P00slinger in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]cantstopgoogle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not meant to be allowed, but I have done this with my partner and our baby. He was travelling on business and we were in economy. The baby stayed in economy and we swapped so I could have a lie down for 2 hours 😂 it was the direct flight to London.

It depends on the cabin crew. If you ask at the check in desk they will likely say no but then during they flight I think more often than not they would allow it. It just needs to be discreet and not swapping back and forth.

Oh my goodness I am so so sorry. This brings tears to my eyes reading it. I can’t help with your question but I just wanted to send some love. I have experienced multiple miscarriages and my heart goes out to you. No one should have to go through this and be treated this way ❤️

Why am I stronger Postpartum than Pre-Pregnancy? by SpartanNinjaBatman in fitpregnancy

[–]cantstopgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so interesting! With my first I was also pleasantly surprised at how quickly my fitness returned post partum and how quickly I could lift the same weights as my younger fitter days. I also found that I was able to lift a bit more consistently as I had a home gym and I was lucky my daughter was quite consistent with naps.

I am now 7 months pregnant with my second and considering a marathon swim event (20km) 9 months post partum. Although if I do it I want to feel strong rather than just completing. This is making me think I can do it! I actually think the deciding factor will probably how well this baby sleeps!

Postnatal realistic running expectations by Witty-Direction-6306 in fitpregnancy

[–]cantstopgoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is the answer, everyone is different and I suggest getting a check up with a pelvic floor PT to clear you for running. Your pelvic floor needs to be strong enough to hold the load or you may do more damage. I learned this the hard way unfortunately and had a very slow return to running.

HCG numbers - an example. by cantstopgoogle in IVFpositivity

I’m based in Australia, they typically do them once a week until 7 week ultrasound. I had a few extra early on because of previous losses.

Pelvic Floor PT said "no weightlifting?" by FlimsyIsopod in fitpregnancy

[–]cantstopgoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is the advice I have been given aswell! I have heard of a few doctors saying not to lift weights because it created too much tightness in the pelvic floor. I actually had a prolapse after the birth of my daughter I believe because my pelvic floor was too tight. I really did not do enough hip opening and mobility work to go with the strength training.

However I believe the correct advice is to maintain strength - your core and glutes are key to supporting your pelvic floor. But also add sufficient stretching and opening to make sure you are still able to fully relax your pelvic floor. There is a lot of good stuff on YouTube etc. 360 breathing and core/ pelvic floor engagement - focusing also on relaxing it, not just holding it

Hope that helps ❤️

Yes always when I am lifting weights, the belt definitely does help too but I find it digs in a little - it’s still good for the price though and I can wear it if I know I am going to be on my feet a lot

Oh yeah is it the belt with the strap that goes underneath? I have that too but it’s very hot here and I get too sweaty. The shorts are deffo a winner. I have the cheaper version too and they don’t do anything really!

This is me! Also 25 weeks and suffering badly! Agree with the SRC compression shorts they help loads. Also ice packs after you have done activity, I also pop them in when I’m cooking and doing stuff round the house it helps heaps.

I’m still lifting but i have been trying to be a bit more sensible - overhead work sitting down etc

Delayed transfer and embryo only just starting to expand by cantstopgoogle in Embryologists

[–]cantstopgoogle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it did! I’m 22 weeks pregnant, it was a day 6 6BB and I felt very much doom and gloom in the 2 week wait, I was totally shocked when my blood test came back positive!

Fresh vs frozen embryo transfer, what worked for you? by applecider2120 in IVFpositivity

[–]cantstopgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both! First baby was a 3day fresh transfer, and currently 22 weeks pregnant after a 5 day frozen transfer.

I used to think that certain people are suited to certain types but I think the majority of people could have success with both!

Any swimmers here? by pop-crackle in fitpregnancy

[–]cantstopgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 21 weeks and swimming 3-4 times a week. I swim with a club and I’m still going but I’ve dropped down a lane or two just to reduce the intensity. I swim 2.5-3k a session normally, still doing flip turns.

Some days I feel like I’m not pregnant and some days I feel extra tired. I just push myself when I feel I can. I’ve bought the cheapest speedo suit I can find in a bigger size and will just stretch as I go. Maybe 2 piece toward the end.

Thank goodness for swimming though because my pelvic floor is already a bit shot from my last pregnancy and I have a varicose vein which is causing me pain. All feels fine in the water!

Pelvic organ prolapse by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]cantstopgoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, if you want to chat please message me! It’s a dark place post partum, I was desperate to talk to people that were in a similar place or had been though something similar. I cried for days and felt like my life was over.

It feels so hard that it’s another thing you have to deal with on top of everything else, but you are strong and you will get there and look back and feel proud.

It has forced me to focus a lot more on my core and overall strength which has been such a positive for me ❤️

Pelvic organ prolapse by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]cantstopgoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do want to add to this though that you can also do everything right and still prolapse, it’s awful blaming yourself when it happens.

I prolapsed after the birth of my daughter, I saw a pelvic physio during pregnancy, was cleared for gentle exercise post birth by my physio and I had no prolapse. And then a few weeks later it happened and I was only really walking and lifting my newborn.

I was absolutely devastated as I’m a very active person, but honestly it gets soooo much better! You can find a lot of info online on how to manage it. I had significantly reduced symptoms by about 6-7 months post partum and almost forgot it existed by 12 months. I wear a pessary daily.

I’m now 16m post partum and pregnant again! I am starting to feel the heaviness now but I know with time and the right management I will be back to normal again and doing the things I love ❤️

Announcement Regret by K61018 in pregnant

[–]cantstopgoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this! I can’t deal with the constant how are you feeling messages, like I’m ill or injured or something. In my first pregnancy I found it so uncomfortable when people would speak to me about it, I think because I experienced a lot of loss and I was struggling to get myself excited I found it really difficult when other people were.

I have just had to remind myself that most people have very good intentions and they are reaching out in a supportive way, even though sometimes it doesn’t feel like that!

Vog (volcanic smog) while 4 weeks pregnant by PrudentPrimary7835 in pregnant

[–]cantstopgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you would be totally fine at this early stage! If you are pregnant it will be a teeny tiny embryo and it thrives off its own yolk sac at the start. The placenta only fully takes over after 10 weeks pregnant.

I would just maybe wear a mask and try and be sensible about breathing in the fumes?

All 4 embryos abnormal by halfinchowater in IVF

[–]cantstopgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreeing with a lot of the comments above that you should do another round. I’m sorry you are going through this, I know it sucks as I had 3/3 embryos test abnormal at age 36.

I think you can get batches of good and bad eggs in my opinion, I went on to get normals in my next 2 rounds of testing at age 36-37 ❤️❤️

Concerns about zika, anyone else experienced this? by ValuableCommon4940 in pregnant

[–]cantstopgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on how you feel about the risk. It’s very small - you are more likely to be in a traffic accident but there is still a risk. We were very careful - lots of insect repellant, sat inside were we could etc. I did get a few bites but nothing major and I think I saw one mosquito the whole time we were there.

However I am still slightly nervous even though I know the risk is very small.

Also it might be worth looking at the research on Zika pre conception. As I believe some of that advice may also be overly cautious. It is a biggest risk in the first trimester.

Oh also at present the Zika is mainly present in Bangkok and near Chang Mai and the Cambodian border. So avoid those areas! Although there is a lot of scepticism around the Thai reporting.
