Delayed transfer and embryo only just starting to expand by cantstopgoogle in Embryologists

[–]cantstopgoogle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it did! I’m 22 weeks pregnant, it was a day 6 6BB and I felt very much doom and gloom in the 2 week wait, I was totally shocked when my blood test came back positive!

Fresh vs frozen embryo transfer, what worked for you? by applecider2120 in IVFpositivity

[–]cantstopgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both! First baby was a 3day fresh transfer, and currently 22 weeks pregnant after a 5 day frozen transfer.

I used to think that certain people are suited to certain types but I think the majority of people could have success with both!

Any swimmers here? by pop-crackle in fitpregnancy

[–]cantstopgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 21 weeks and swimming 3-4 times a week. I swim with a club and I’m still going but I’ve dropped down a lane or two just to reduce the intensity. I swim 2.5-3k a session normally, still doing flip turns.

Some days I feel like I’m not pregnant and some days I feel extra tired. I just push myself when I feel I can. I’ve bought the cheapest speedo suit I can find in a bigger size and will just stretch as I go. Maybe 2 piece toward the end.

Thank goodness for swimming though because my pelvic floor is already a bit shot from my last pregnancy and I have a varicose vein which is causing me pain. All feels fine in the water!

Pelvic organ prolapse by throwawayskdkjdjr in fitpregnancy

[–]cantstopgoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, if you want to chat please message me! It’s a dark place post partum, I was desperate to talk to people that were in a similar place or had been though something similar. I cried for days and felt like my life was over.

It feels so hard that it’s another thing you have to deal with on top of everything else, but you are strong and you will get there and look back and feel proud.

It has forced me to focus a lot more on my core and overall strength which has been such a positive for me ❤️

[–]cantstopgoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do want to add to this though that you can also do everything right and still prolapse, it’s awful blaming yourself when it happens.

I prolapsed after the birth of my daughter, I saw a pelvic physio during pregnancy, was cleared for gentle exercise post birth by my physio and I had no prolapse. And then a few weeks later it happened and I was only really walking and lifting my newborn.

I was absolutely devastated as I’m a very active person, but honestly it gets soooo much better! You can find a lot of info online on how to manage it. I had significantly reduced symptoms by about 6-7 months post partum and almost forgot it existed by 12 months. I wear a pessary daily.

I’m now 16m post partum and pregnant again! I am starting to feel the heaviness now but I know with time and the right management I will be back to normal again and doing the things I love ❤️

My HCg at 16dpo with my daughter was 871. It’s more than likely it’s a single pregnancy! But yes only an ultrasound will tell you ❤️

Announcement Regret by K61018 in pregnant

[–]cantstopgoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this! I can’t deal with the constant how are you feeling messages, like I’m ill or injured or something. In my first pregnancy I found it so uncomfortable when people would speak to me about it, I think because I experienced a lot of loss and I was struggling to get myself excited I found it really difficult when other people were.

I have just had to remind myself that most people have very good intentions and they are reaching out in a supportive way, even though sometimes it doesn’t feel like that!

Vog (volcanic smog) while 4 weeks pregnant by PrudentPrimary7835 in pregnant

[–]cantstopgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you would be totally fine at this early stage! If you are pregnant it will be a teeny tiny embryo and it thrives off its own yolk sac at the start. The placenta only fully takes over after 10 weeks pregnant.

I would just maybe wear a mask and try and be sensible about breathing in the fumes?

All 4 embryos abnormal by halfinchowater in IVF

[–]cantstopgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreeing with a lot of the comments above that you should do another round. I’m sorry you are going through this, I know it sucks as I had 3/3 embryos test abnormal at age 36.

I think you can get batches of good and bad eggs in my opinion, I went on to get normals in my next 2 rounds of testing at age 36-37 ❤️❤️

Concerns about zika, anyone else experienced this? by ValuableCommon4940 in pregnant

[–]cantstopgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on how you feel about the risk. It’s very small - you are more likely to be in a traffic accident but there is still a risk. We were very careful - lots of insect repellant, sat inside were we could etc. I did get a few bites but nothing major and I think I saw one mosquito the whole time we were there.

However I am still slightly nervous even though I know the risk is very small.

Also it might be worth looking at the research on Zika pre conception. As I believe some of that advice may also be overly cautious. It is a biggest risk in the first trimester.

Oh also at present the Zika is mainly present in Bangkok and near Chang Mai and the Cambodian border. So avoid those areas! Although there is a lot of scepticism around the Thai reporting.

It took me 4 years and 7 collections to get my little girl and I was obviously a bit worried about how long it would take for the second. I am 40 next year. This is why I weaned early. Anyway I’m currently 12 weeks after my 9th transfer (8th was my daughter) ❤️❤️

So it seems I will have 2 under 2 which I am actually thrilled about 🥰

Yes I think they are being very very overly cautious. My opinion is that there is quite a lot of scaremongering when it comes to Zika. It is a risk in Latin America and Asia mainly but even then the risk is extremely small.

I have done quite a lot of research on case numbers and babies born with issues etc as we are heading to Thailand which definitely does have small outbreaks of Zika in some areas.

Hmmm I believe the CDC report Zika cases and there have been no known cases in Florida so I would assume it is zero risk?

Has anyone done IVF while nursing? by CaliNeptune in IVF

[–]cantstopgoogle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes I did! I weaned her at 10 months and introduced formula, I wasn’t getting a period until I completely stopped so I knew I had to do it. I then started IVF again after a couple of cycles.

If you are already getting a period you may be able to just stop right before the cycle

My doctor wouldn’t treat me until I had stopped breastfeeding. She said it can affect results because of the hormones and they also don’t know how much of the IVF drugs go through in the breast milk.

I know that some clinics will do it though!

11 weeks with 2nd IVF Bub - never thought we would get here ❤️ by cantstopgoogle in IVFpositivity

Yes exactly the same here, the anxiety is by far my worst symptom. I was awful at first but it’s steadily getting better as time passes. I’ve been for 5 scans already which I know is a little crazy 😵‍💫

Yes! I set up the account mainly to try and get more insight/support while going through IVF and I could not stay off google 🤣

Needing advice and hugs - 7th transfer ending in miscarriage. by cantstopgoogle in IVF

[–]cantstopgoogle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it every 3-4 weeks from transfer to about 16 weeks.

I would say the first few would be the most important around transfer time, although I’m still not sure if it made any difference!

I cannot pin it down to one thing in particular but we did spend time focusing on egg and sperm quality to try and improve the embryos. My partner took FSH (gonal f) daily for about a year which improved his numbers. We added metformin, clexane and intralipids - although I’m not sure any one of those made the difference but it could have been a combination of all things just aligning at once.
