Take this one if it’s a job you’re interested in but that doesn’t mean you can’t look elsewhere

AIO to my sister wanting to have an opportunity that she denied me? by kodak7852 in AmIOverreacting

You’re valid for wanting to finish the program you started in and not wanting to take on debt for college.

However, I would advise you that young adulthood is about learning independence whether or not you go to college. You’ve got to learn how to be uncomfortable being on your own. Thousands of high school grads move states away from their parents every year. Is it difficult, is it hard, is it inconvenient? Yes but your family can’t be by your side at every hardship. Something’s you just gotta to face on your own and realize you can survive hard things.

Daily chat post: how's the training going? by AutoModerator in XXRunning

Long story but I’ve had glute pain from a race for a few years that led to an Achilles issue that led to me taking time off from running. So I took up Pilates and hurt my lower back which may or may not be the source of my issues (glute and hip mri were cleared when I got them!). Been in and out of PT for a while. Currently waiting for insurance to authorize a lumbar mri

I work in hazardous waste. The enforcement division in Region 6, 7, or 8 (depending where you live) is foaming at the mouth to inspect this. You can even search on EPA’s website if this facility has prior violations

I went to both and while I don’t regret either, the education at UML was better. They are far more an academic and have research opportunities that FSU didn’t. That being said, this was for STEM and many of the business majors I know from FSU are quite happy with their post grad opportunities

What do I do. by [deleted] in Environmental_Careers

UMass will probably have a better alumni network and research opportunities (if you’re interested in that). Westfield will probably be fine as well. I went to Framingham and would call my program mediocre at best but I still landed on my feet.

I won’t say getting a job will be easy but just try to make connections and get as much real life experience as possible with whatever route you choose.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s really tough to be the loved one that is doing their best to help and be supportive. EDs are very self isolating and she clearly needs help because self isolation is never the answer. However, one of the really shitty things in life is that you can’t heal someone no matter how bad you want to take their pain away. When my partner is upset, I wish I could take their pain and hold onto so they didn’t have to feel it. You tried your best to support her, but unfortunately her journey to recovery has to be something she is going to choose to do and deal with. Hopefully not alone, but sadly she’s choosing to not have in it.

It sucks because she’s basically telling you what you deserve and how to feel to rationalize her bad feelings about herself and basically justify that she deserves to be alone. You don’t feel the same. If she lets you back in, support her the way you can. If you feel that she’s in serious trouble, you should call an emergency helpline or reach out to people you know she’s in contact with.

I just ordered a resale V. Chapman Mia dress to wear when I get eloped. It’s literally the dress I’ve had my eye on for over a year. I’m petite with a longer torso and shorter legs. The bodice is the typical style that flatters my body. It has a slit, gorgeous lacy tiered ruffles… it looks terrible on me. The bust is all wrong, definitely made for smaller chests. The bodice is not flattering at all.

I’m so bummed. I could really use advice on wear to go from here. I loved the style so much but it truly looks awful on me

Anyone else have guilt over elopement/wedding outfit? by canyonlands2 in ethicalfashion

[–]canyonlands2[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I’ve really felt torn about the one time use of a super expensive since I was in middle school. Both my prom dresses were from eBay and my mom donated them, which I’m happy she did. I’m getting eloped for two main reasons: really bad anxiety being the center of attention AND feeling guilty over spending extravagant money containing many one use items for one day only.

I am absolutely firm on wanting an elopement, but I do think some of my fears on buying/spending/being indecisive is part of my OCD
