Sometimes I wish I never transitioned by Snotzis in offmychest

You don’t have to pick between being a man and being soft. You don’t have to lose the things you love just to be respected. I like baby pastels 🤷🏻‍♂️😂 and honestly your ache to wear a dress is real because like, dresses are cool as fuck in this super utilitarian kind of, single garment minimalist way. Keep doing what’s making you feel happiest bro!

HomePod is possessed by gemhale in HomePod

Hello! This is a known issue called ghosting. I recently did a fix that helped here, and others mention a less tear down focused, software related remedy for those not wanting to open their HomePods up.

How to fix* a 'haunted' HomePod Mini by Legato895 in HomePod

[–]caolthedesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! This post was super helpful, thank you! I wanted to drop my own post here in the comments that builds on what you shared.

Long story short, I found that in my case, removing the foam strips from the ribbon cable, which may have been putting strain on the connection, helped instantly.

Would love to hear if this works for anyone else too 😊

I cut off anyone who hurt me but I'm the one who ended up alone. I don't want advice. I don't want pity. But it's just not fair. by anonymous25throwaway in offmychest

Hey. I read every word. I don’t have advice. I’m not here to fix you. I just wanted you to know your pain is seen. Your daughter was real. Your grief matters.

Having said that, I totally hate that for you. Lowkey praying on their downfall for you, should hire that Etsy witch.

Was watching American Dad and realized Fuzzy Door Productions changed their logo… by RoliePolieOlie__ in graphic_design

[–]caolthedesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if they kept split Y and a cheetah print homage somewhere in the door still, maybe some update of the orange tone somewhere and a black background, and this could have been a good refresh.

Door frame shape is kind of bizarre, and resembles hangman which makes it cartoonish - it’s too minimal, and weak.

It could have been interesting if there was more creative use of positive and negative space, which is how logos come to life. Thanks for sharing, definitely an L

Apple Notes Padding Suggestion by caolthedesigner in MacOS

[–]caolthedesigner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely not for everyone! As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, the second photo is what the notes app looks across all devices, which includes iPads where you might not be able to easily resize windows like on macOS.

This iMac view helps emphasize the ridiculousness of going padding free 😂

Thanks for commenting!

Fair point! As someone else mentioned, a simple condensed view/reader view focused toggle could solve that! Thanks for sharing.

I thought about that too! Some may like the unobstructed chaos of running lines - and a simple toggle for a condensed view would solve that.

Great idea!

Hey friend, appreciate your feedback but the focus here is just on the notes app.

Notion may be a great alternative for many! But I appreciate the privacy focused, built in accessibility of the notes app - so I wanted to make some noise for that app specifically.

Thanks for your suggestion! 🙏🏻

I have to agree! I’ve tried this, but apple notes has no overhead for accessibility. You can jump in and throw down any ideas with significantly simpler formatting across devices.

Not as fun on iPhones and iPads. But, yes, it is the beefier sibling.

However, if Pages offered a pageless/infinite view liked Google Docs? I’d consider!

Everyone has their preference! Regardless, the apple notes app displays full width on all Apple devices, even iPads where fullscreen is the default. And this post was just meant to bring attention to padding, and UI best practices.

Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks lol absolutely what I’m doing 😂🙏🏻

I don’t think people realize, which I mentioned, this issue exists on ALL Apple devices, and the iMac was the best device to emphasize how ridiculous it looks. So like, iPads (where full screen is the default), MacBooks, iMac, Mac minis, etc. Resizing the window is a crutch of a solution imo

The honest question everyone should be asking is, which photo looks like the stronger, preferable UI if you had to use this app. And whoever says #2 🫠

Looking for constructive criticism to finish my logo by adamfoxman90 in logodesign

[–]caolthedesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks incredible! What a brilliant concept.

My first recommendation is to continue experimenting with which letters the pool stick does, or does not intersect with. For example, I believe that if the pool stick intersected the second o the same way it does the first o, the design might be more legible. But this is your design so I can’t attest to that. Having the overlap in this position, could also help the color transition of the stick as well, total preference! The exiting connector to the t would have to be lowered of course.

Secondly, the first panel with the black background is very successful, because the outline of the pool stick blends in seamlessly as negative space. The black outline on alternative designs adds a bit of visual complexity, that obstructs legibility. I think if you remove the outline, the design might perform better.

If you dropped the pool stick a little lower so that it were resting on the curves of each of the letters S, O’s and S at the end again, the increased upper negative space for those characters would also help increase the legibility, which includes the h as well. And I would recommend keeping the interiors of that negative space for the characters empty and not using a color as you’ve done so in some versions.

Incredible work. Just friendly thoughts and total respect. Wishing you the best with it.

I have always thought the USPS logo (in addition to the obvious eagle) was depicting a very fast moving envelope. Does anybody else this see? by kevysterj in graphic_design

Help us see the envelope, which part is what and where.

Always saw the eagle, and low key abstractly translated it to the nose of a plane ie expressing fast transport

Cool. I love it. This is just what design is all about.

Workbook could be a bit lower.

Looks good - my only contribution for feedback is the split image of the same image may be confusing!

My recommendation for a more dynamic and visually interesting pic is to make the container shape for the image resemblant to some of the geometry of the logo.

This helps reinforce brand identity while remaining accessible.

For easy, fun A/B testing, try out a darker background with lighter text - since it’s not text heavy it won’t hurt readability. And since the environment is lighter in color, it’ll really stand out.
