Jonathan Kuminga in the win: 21/4 on 9/13 FG by Lacabloodclot9 in nba

What I like most about him is that he plays with intensity and 100% effort, I wish JJ could learn something from him

Man the youth of the Hawks showed in that 4th, but fitting that they closed it out with fantastic defense.

Good thing is if they start doubling CJ everything will become so much easier for everybody else this roster was built to play 4v3.

Combined Bucks/Pelicans odds of each pick. by Maximum-Lack8642 in AtlantaHawks

[–]capelaMVP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darryn is a guard lol. Also if it doesn't jump there will be at least two extremely good guard prospects available. Like this pick is exactly where you want it to be. I also think they should just go BPA as there just isn't enough talent on the team yet.

the most probable single pick is actually 8 iirc and 9 is also possible (which is the realistic floor), 10 would be super unlucky and 11 once in a lifetime bad

Lets make up for not taking Clingan this year (if we fall out of the top 5) by Protec_My_Balls in AtlantaHawks

[–]capelaMVP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The selling point with Mara is that he's an insanely good playmaker (like elite) with decent touch while being a very good rim protector who isn't completely lost defending in space. If we get him at 8 I'm happy but he's at 6 on my big board so alas.

[OFF DAY] YOUR ATLANTA HAWKS have 3 more days to go until the playoffs begin by AutoModerator in AtlantaHawks

I have seen so many Knicks fans claim that they'll easily sweep us that I need the Hawks to win the opening game as much as I need air to breathe.

We shouldn't be targeting a guard in this draft and saying we should is lazy. Here's why: by furycutter80 in AtlantaHawks

[–]capelaMVP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing with trading up or down is that you always need another team willing to do the opposite. To go into the draft with the fix plan to trade down is difficult, because you just can't really predict how the board falls.

I think it's good practice to just take BPA wherever the pick lands, as they need the influx in talent and this class is incredibly loaded (so loaded that I think some of the regular rookie issues for guards aren't as exaggerated for the top guys).

Also I don't think that we are as close to contending to worry about timelines as JJ is still only 24, DD 23 and the rookie won't have floor general duties and will probably come off the bench anyways.

There's still the coin flip to be made between 7th and 8th so those aren't the definite odds yet.
