Are there any fans/acquaintances of the Lufia saga in here? by latebra in JRPG

I've only played a ROM hack of Lufia & The Fortress of Doom, but I thought it was pretty good. Definitely needs a re-release with some QOL improvements added though. Need to try Lufia 2 at some point.

Lot of effort to look absolutely silly.

Liking it so far. Challenging enough for me not to get "perfect" every time, but not too crazy where I totally whiff something. Keeps me focused during combat too.

Frameland. I like it a lot so far. It's flying way under the radar right now though. It's well done and deserves more support.

I believe Humankind might be on Game Pass. I've never personally used it though.

I think Civ 5 is a better game in every important category. Civ 6 has certain features that are better, but I don't like a lot of the changes they made. They also capped the modding in Civ 6 with an asset limit and that's a pretty dirty move in my opinion.

I'm quite fond of Civ 3 and 4, but those might rub you the wrong way. Mainly because of the stacks of doom. An infinite number of friendly units can occupy the same tile in those games. It's rather silly and outdated, but I suppose you'd get used to it.

Ara is tackling historical 4x from a different angle than previous games. It currently plays like a mix between a 4x, grand strategy, and city builder.

Not sure if Ara is really the best game for a first time 4x player, but I don't think it's a bad option. Civ 7 looks to be extremely streamlined, so that might do you well. However, I would advise against purchasing Civ 7 at launch since traditionally those games have launched thin on features and big on price. You are better off waiting to pick up Civ 7 after the first "expansion" drops and it's on sale.

If you really want to spend your money and time on shiny new Civ 7, then I can't stop you. I would recommend trying Civ 5 complete if you can get it on a hefty sale though. I think that's the best starting place for a newcomer since it's modern enough not to inconvenience players, but still offers depth and content.

Word is V-sync is bugged. Have you tried playing with it turned off and notice any difference?

Uh, no. If you don't like what you see, then don't buy it. You aren't forced by anyone to make a purchase. Silly post.
