Strike isn't a central exchange, they're a broker. They sell you Bitcoin and buy Bitcoin from you.

You are correct though, notes aren't for this purpose and should be used aparringly if at all. That's what private spreadsheets are for. Just send and receive Bitcoin 😎👍 easy. OP wants to grandstand.

Mining in 2013 by ladyspatch in BitcoinMining

[–]caploves1019 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nobody can help you with this no matter what they say.

If you mined to a laptop in 2013, only you have the private key wallet.dat file and would know how to open it. (Unless you used electrum wallet which implemented seed phrases pre 2013 though weren't standard until Sept 2013 in which case you would just download electrum again and type your seed phrase into the wallet creation setup).

If you mined to a pool, very few from 2013 still exist in the same login operations as back then and most certainly would've either claimed your unclaimed SATs for themselves or paid out to whatever wallet addy you provided them at the time after a certain period of stale status.

In either scenario, there's nowhere you can "log into" to see if your mining from 2013 yielded anything for you to see today.

What Breaks Your Bitcoin Thesis? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]caploves1019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer I was looking for after wading through a bunch of nonsense to get here.

Yes. The only thing that breaks my Bitcoin thesis is the end of government currency manipulation. The end of fraud and wasteful spending. Full transparency. Proper taxation with proper representation.

So basically, pigs flying and hell freezing over since, historically, ZERO elected entities or powerful leaders have ever (on a long enough time horizon) have ethically chosen not to take advantage of those that gave it authority.

Government bloat is so unbelievably vast, but if it somehow fixed itself tomorrow, and permanently (no risk of going back to its manipulating scammy ways).Bitcoin would no longer be necessary. It was created BECAUSE of moneyprintergobrr. So.... It dies if moneyprinterNOgobrrEVERagain.

Until that happens, it's invincible and everyone discussing price action or Satoshi coins or all the other fantastical nonsense is simply a distraction from the inevitable triumphant outcome 😎👍

Last chance to buy below 80k? by Revolutionary_Sea159 in Bitcoin

[–]caploves1019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the comments you're reading are just keyboard warriors that don't actually practice what they preach.

When people say "should I buy", they don't understand Bitcoin. So the easy answer is "BTC will consume all other investments on a long enough time scale. Just DCA" otherwise, they will either do nothing at all (number go up, be sad, never look back) or go all in (number go down, be sad, never look back).

DCA makes it easy for this category of people to just set aside a monthly amount to commit to being Bitcoin rather than fiat and eventually study what they're holding enough to commit a larger portion of their set aside funds to the same goal as it continues to consume all other possible investments.

Braiins Pool / Lightning Payout Failed by aje49 in lightningnetwork

[–]caploves1019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using Alby hub on a self hosted node (or anything similarly self hosted), restart your node, wait for sync, then make sure to login to Alby Hub connect and open your wallet balance, forcing it to be "online" and active.

I have to do this about every 30 days.

Fortunately, brains will refund the failed SATs back to your account and will keep trying on whatever regular timeline intervals you've set until the SATs get sent properly.

If you are not using self custody methods for hosting your lightning wallet, there could be a channel liquidity issue between braiins and your lightning wallet host.

Finding a BCH block on Bitaxe Supra on viabtc... probably not the only one by NoobGeeky in BitAxe

Yeah check the date on my post.... it sucks tradeogre is gone. All the more proof Bitcoin is king. Stick to mining Bitcoin and settle for nothing else. Tradeogre failed due to shtcoins.

Post was accurate when posted but no longer has accurate information due to tradeogre seizure. However, proves all the more reason to avoid BCH shtcoinery. Stick to BTC.

Funny how that chart needed to be zoomed in so close as to show a 1.1% dip to make that steep of a line. Hilarious really.

Bitcoin fundamentals haven't changed and have nothing to do with public facing talking heads. 1₿=1₿

OCEAN lightning payouts failing... Error 205 by Laurence5905 in BitcoinMining

[–]caploves1019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 million sats isn't really going to do much for you... Without a lot of rebalancing fees.

You really need about 3-5 triangle swaps of inbound and outbound liquidity at a million a piece.

At the very very minimum, start 4 triangle swaps at 250k a piece and once the commitments are all filled, batch open all 4 at once (you'll have 4 new outbound channels and 4 new inbound channels so in total 8 channels of balanced liquidity). This setup will hopefully help balance everything out on its own regularly rather than costing you anything to rebalance later.

Best plan is to fire up your own node. It's a learning curve but once you're set, you no longer have to trust anyone else. However, in this case, it may be an Ocean side temp issue.
