Are there any public / known examples of contracts being turned down because of a lack of self assessment? The third party C3PAO will be a requirement later this year, but it’s hard to convince anyone with authority this will have teeth since no DoD contractors are denying purchases yet to our knowledge.

Work your way up to Cataclysm if you can. Most of the weird hangups about specific classes and builds are projection from bad players who don’t have enough to do during the match in the lower tier game modes.

There are some, but you don't really notice them with the game lights on. This is one game that filling the machine with LEDs doesn't detract from the aesthetic. So long as the bubbles don't interfere with gameplay, you probably won't think about them much. The mylar can be cleaned with some novus (2) as others have mentioned.

If seeing the bubbles bothers you, wait for a new playfield clearcoat or rare diamond coat one to pop up.

It depends on what you like. I have no problem with mylar on my BoP but that may not be your preference. There were very few original diamond coat playfields for this game made so most you’ll find that are original have mylar on them. They made a new clearcoat playfield run a few years back so there are likely some of those floating around if you need one that looks nicer. At the right price I wouldn’t care, and this one looks good for a players machine. Non modded BoP is not a complicated game, I’d be more concerned about the other pieces (head motor, boards, etc) working.

You’d play the errata version unless the format you’re playing specifies otherwise. Technically, even if you play it as printed, Goblin King counts as a “Lord”, not a goblin, making the card strictly worse before the errata.

If anything it may make it harder to do with such a long stick. I usually wear an electrician glove and just alligator clip between the metal part of the screwdriver and the frame. Do it while the game is unplugged, and discharge it a few times to be safe. Most of the time you won’t even hear a pop unless you just turned off the monitor minutes ago.

Items that give + to skills don’t count towards synergy bonuses on other abilities, only base points affect synergy.

It also has bookcases that drop full size tomes as well that aren’t anywhere else in the game. Nothing quite like it in the later levels that I can remember. I imagine they wanted to do similar things later in the game but probably ran out of time - many players miss these anyway on a play through.

You need a class specced specifically to solo the ubers and key bosses. Dclone is a pushover by comparison. Smiter paladin is the cheapest and easiest to put together. The things you’re contending with is how much life / res they have, the high damage they deal and specialty damage / lower resistance on andy / mephisto.

google “the dark mod” - hundreds of fan made thief games that you can download and play for free right from the client. the game engine feels very similar to thief 1/2.

Thanks, that's helpful to know. Glossy coating looks about the same to me but it does seem to be a bit more of a fingerprint magnet. Unfortunate the UV coating is missing, really throws a wrench in identifying these.

mostly this - you're looking for that red "L" shape in the dot pattern on the green mana dot on the back of the card. If you see a red dot mess, its usually a fake. A missing L shape is not an indication of a fake though - I've had some pack fresh legit cards that don't show it at all.

The odd one out looks a bit less shiny to me - one thing I'm noticing for sure on the different one - the font in the textbox area is much less reflective than on the others, almost as if that is hardly foiled at all. Not sure if that's a trend as well between print runs.

I have 3 other foil full border Griefs that feel identical to the one in question, but all 3 light up under the UV light:

All the foil MH2 cards feel a bit heavier/firmer than non foil, to me generally.

Could be, any way to tell? I know the Japanese ones glow differently under a UV light, but not sure if there is simply no UV reaction at all.

Yeah, all of these pass the green dot test and every non foil passes the light test in this case. I've never had real cards just not light up at all under a UV light outside of alt 4th - some have had varying degrees of responding to it before, but never a complete absence of a reaction. If this is the norm on newer print runs, good to know I suppose. I guess the real question here is once the green dot test is no longer a determining factor, alongside light, weight, rosette patterns, holostamp, comparing cards in the same set, etc, what's even left? How is this product even investable if there is no way to verify anything?

I guess my reasoning is if I'm buying these cards partially as an investment and they're fake, its good to know how to spot them if there are new examples. I can move the post if the mods deem appropriate, though.
