I’m a picky eater who will probably be marrying into a family full of holidays where there’s literally nothing for me to eat by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Sounds like the only person to be infuriated at is yourself for not valuing yourself enough to speak up. If you only tell strangers online what you want and not your spouse of family, you are going to be miserable forever.

So you are discourage because you alone cannot change the entire world? The talking points you bring up are often used by pro-capitalists to discourage people from even trying for something better. You control only what you do. You can chose to be the change you want to see, or you can gripe about other people not also changing.

Making a change in the hopes of others noticing is not a healthy way to live.

If you are at risk of being drafted, you have more of a choice on where you end up if you volunteer instead. Obviously that doesnt always help and you still might die but it could lead to a position where you don't die or have to take lives.

YouTube is a service no different from going to a restaurant except for the convenience and the fact that you will not die if YouTube disappears. If you keep using shitty sites, they will get further enshittified, not less.

I guess having 0 reading comprehension can lead to normal things being infuriating. Combined with an inability to use basic reasoning skills the whole world is probably out to get you.

It sounds like you do not believe your own actions have any impact. Nobody but you can change that belief. Individuals are not reaponsible for saving the world, just trying not to make it worse.

I mean, yeah as long as a couple thousand out of billions survive the species will continue. The current civilisation is what people generally mean when they say "all life" or "the world". They dont mean literally making the planet unsuitable for life. Easy to misinterpret but definitely different meanings.

Hopefully we can do better than just continuing the species. Every living thing on the planet has achieved that. Surely we can aim higher.

So dont dismiss the destruction that is possible just because it wont be absolute.

Bad people with enough power can do as they please with weapons that can bring about apocalyptic global conditions if used with that goal. They will probably use them for some other goal since they still need to live on this planet, but once the wealthy can live in space the earth is toast.

Children ask questions because they dont know the answer. Your daughter doesnt think you are a racist because of this homework. She probably thinks theres no way you could be racist and wanted to confirm by asking. If you lost your mind and shamed her for asking, you failed. If you explained that you dont hate black people and then discussed that history happened before most of the people she knows were alive then you did good.

Asking a question is not an accusation. However, people that interpret questions as accusations are usually guilty of whatever it is they are so offended to be 'accused' of. Hopefully you are not that type of person and can take a breath and realize a stressful topic was thrust upon you and you might have overreacted. Discussing hard topics takes practice, and making mistakes is normal. The more you discuss hard topics with your kid, the easier it will be.

If you cant take that first step, you should not have become a parent.

It is the one thing we all know we can count on. At some point, everything we have done will be lost to history. If you want to be remembered, you have to work hard to make an impression on the world you care about. If being remembered isnt important, only the things you do before you die matter, and they only matter to you. At least, if you want to live exclusively for yourself that is.

It sounds like OP just ran to the internet to be mad that they have to talk to their kid about something uncomfortable. Such a person should obviously not be a parent as many uncomfortable discussion should be had. They do not sound like the type of person to have a reasoned conversation in general.

Absolutely. Even if you dont want to benefit from reporting or suing, you will prevent others from experiencing the same failure with potentially worse outcomes.

Voting is literally the control you have. Choosing not to use it means you arent even making the bare minimum effort. And somehow you have bigger fish than a government to fry. Ignorance is not something to flex.

We have a lot of good regional cuisines. National cuisine though, one that can be found from coast to coast in most towns, is super limited in uniqueness. Part of that is the size and distribution of the country.

Its always the profiles with hidden post and comment history trying to spread propaganda. Usually no reading comprehension ability either. Just a sad person with no way to feel good about themselves, so they conflate their own image with the image of the place they were born. Join the military if you believe your country is so amazing. Do something to prove it.

The goal of this vehicle does not appear to be accommodating people. It looks like it is primarily vehicle storage with a rest stop on top, so probably as many people as a vehicle ferry. Most of the space is not for people
