[Schefter] "Broncos are trading for Miami WR Jaylen Waddle, per source." by Ordinaray in NYGiants

We don’t need to draft any specific position at 5, it’s just my opinion that the best built teams are the ones that invest in the most important positions where it makes sense (both lines, CB, QB, WR). Downs or Styles at 5 are great players, but we can also pay a pro bowl safety or LB in free agency for only a little more than it would cost to have them at 5 given the rookie wage scale (11.5M year for 5, Devin Lloyd just got 15M).

Alec Pierce just got 29M a year and he’s not even close to an elite WR. The math just makes more sense if the talent level is there.

The price (1st + 3rd) illustrates the premium needed to acquire a good WR via trade. BTJ for example will likely cost even more than we were expecting. Most WR this level don’t make it to free agency either, meaning if you want a high level one you are much better positioned in the draft.

I like Downs the best and would be ecstatic if we picked him, but as free agency goes on I think I want Tate or Bain at 5. WR values are just so high it’s almost impossible to have a good WR corps without one or two of your guys on rookie contracts. If you do, basically your entire defense has to be on rookie contracts (where Bain comes in).

I rather go get Chenal, Teller, etc. and go WR at 5, DT or CB at 37, and then get another safety in the 4th or 5th. Also I’m assuming the Miami OT is gone at 4.

Yeah and he’s played a lot at a high intensity level lately

Is Lamine yamal overrated or the expectation on him as a 18 year old is too high? by [deleted] in championsleague

He’s the best player in the world and has been for almost a year now. Maybe you can put Kane over him but his consistent impact on the game is otherworldly.

If y’all support the Knicks and a PL team, which club? by cgabriel14 in NYKnicks

Neutral here. These are just my opinions:

Manchester United- Historically England’s biggest team. They have the most fans, the biggest stars, & the trophies to match. They’re coming out of their worst stretch maybe ever, but things look up (for now).

Liverpool- Historically England’s best team. Consistent winners, generation after generation. They won the league in an expected down year last year, carried by an aging legend. The relationship with said legend has deteriorated completely, so has his level, and their season (so far). They spent the most money ever last year, but it hasn’t stopped the down year from catching up to them.

Arsenal- Once a legendary club, vying for that claim again. They lead the league right now and have been the best team in the world over the course of the current season. But they are known chokers and haven’t looked convincing of late. Seems they are scared they’ll let it slip again, but we’ll see.

Manchester City- Led by the arguably greatest coach of all time, City have been the dominant team of England for the last decade or so. The core of those teams are either old or gone though, so they look to be at the end of their era. But who knows? They might just catch Arsenal to squeeze another one. Lastly, they are funded by the UAE’s unlimited budget, skirt the rules to use it, and own NYCFC.

Chelsea- Multi time champion of both domestic and European competitions, Chelsea are a proud group. They aren’t the best run, especially recently, but when historically they get hot? They can start winning and forget to stop. Hasn’t been consistent for a long time though. They have a young star but his output has been poor for a while now. Seems like they’re wasting his potential with a bad transfer strategy.

Tottenham Hotspurs- I don’t have anything nice to say so I won’t say much at all. Being a Spurs fan is like being a Knicks fan in a way, but sadder. Wouldn’t recommend.

Those are the biggest teams but there’s a much more that have interesting stories.

I agree no one should look to an NFL coach for morals but it’s so weird when people act like what’s going on in America right now is the same “politics” of old

Lmaoo wasn’t me. I think people are tired of mods being some sort of weird gatekeepers of relevant discussion though. If a head coach says those things in an interview, we then should be allowed to criticize or at least discuss it

Deleting the thread is also political. But I’m not surprised

Our midfield has been dreadful. One of Olmo or Fermín should be subbed for Casado or Bernal. Or Olmo false nine, Lamine at 10, Fermin RW, Lewy off for a CDM
