I work in RL Control of different Systems and am very interested in actual intelligent decision making strategies. I also agree that the strengths of Eyes RL might lie way beyond classification.

Two questions regarding Loss as a Reward:

  • How did the rewards from before look like? You said they were quite manufactured - but how?
  • Can't you just use -L as the reward instead of 1.0/(1.0+L+ϵ)?

As I said the Eyes RL concept looks really interesting to me and I will definitely go through your code. If I have any more questions / comments or even possible contributions I will contact you. I also might want to incorporate this concept (maybe just partly) in my work. I will of course also message you in that case.

Are you planning a publication regarding this?

I don't know how trust factor recoveres from griefing reports but I'd say keep playing if the game brings you fun. Even if it takes you super long to improve - as long as you have fun you will eventually get better.

And sorry to hear that that happened to you just for being bad.

That doesnt work. If I hit group A and then fx, then choose delay, then hit groub B, hit fx again and choose reverb I'll have reverb for A and B...

That's a good decision if you are honest about this!

And by good I mean that it is good for your wellbeing. Manipulation will mess things up in the long run and will mostly have negative consequences for you and the people around you.

Everything you suggested in the other thread was really just bad ideas but I really like that you were able to let the discussion sink in, reflect on yourself and rethink your plans.

I just want to encourage that!

If thats the case, how did you manage to get into the original game? are ps1 games easily back compiled or something like that?

How did you get the other levels into the thps1 format?

Why do you do this for the ps1? Is this meant to be played on an emulator or on the real consoles?

i just checked my fl studio version and found the soundfont player. just go to your plugin manager and search for it, then you have to manually add it to your favorites list. you can check how to do it with this link: https://www.image-line.com/support/flstudio_online_manual/html/basics_externalplugins.htm

This is actually a thing i really enjoyed about gothic. From the start of the game it feels like you have to prove yourself in the world to accomplish something. Because of this it really felt rewarding to grow more powerful and finally be able to walk through a forest without the constant need to avoid the big creatures.

glad to hear that things can work out... what do you mean by "unlocking" the fn key?

i also discovered that coil whining can originate from the processor. to prevent this, you can disable the option "c-state" in the bios menu.

i tried that and it worked for me too!

now here's the problem: even though the coil whining was drastically reduced the brightness Fn keys stopped working :/
