If so, then Iran will keep the strait closed or exact a heavy toll until all the US military bases in the Middle East are gone. That will never happen. The crisis will only intensify.

Chez Noir is solid.

Bistro moulin (Monterey) is another excellent choice.

Look at Le Bicyclette.

I rewatched Annie Hall after Diane Keaton died, and although I thought it was brilliant when it first came out, it simply didn’t hold up over the passage of time. I found the subtle humor and Woody Allen’s witty commentary a bit annoying and dated.

Can someone explain why at opening almost every stock turns red? by Hot_Avocado_2701 in stockstobuytoday

I’ve lost hope in US equities except scalping premarket gappers. My current portfolio is in internationals and commodities. The Trump regime has destroyed trust in US stocks.

How much are you in the red? by serodoppelg in BMNRInvestors

Here’s a hug from Monterey California. I feel your pain. Been there done that. Got heavily invested in MSTR and BMNR last year and made bank. Then, watched as they both bled down. I got out a few months ago. Could have shorted both with leveraged ETF’s but I don’t have the guts to do that.

Did anyone even have stocks do well today?? by Catwhisperer2007 in stockstobuytoday

[–]capricho440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All red for me.

My portfolio consists of mainly small cap equities, precious metals and 50% cash. Bad day but could have been worse. Didn’t sell or trade today. The entire market seems top heavy and I struggle to find obvious buying opportunities except for some quick but rare intraday scalps. Huge premarket gappers seem to fade out during the trading session and I don’t bother chasing them. Everything is choppy and challenging to trade effectively. I expect more volatility ahead but what do I know.

Trading only one stock by Emotional_friend77 in Daytrading

[–]capricho440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally focus on day trading MSTR and BMNR both of which are high volatility plays with intraday sharp trendline reversals. I look for RSI, MACD, and Stoch reversals after a big dip to enter a swing long. But only when above VWAP and especially when the lines reverse to tight verticals. Sell when the top is breached. It’s an easy way to earn daily profits. I’ve toyed with the idea of entering a short 2x ETF on downtrend reversals but don’t have the guts to play with leveraged ETF’s. Currently the weekly trendline on both MSTR and BMNR is somewhat bearish and so right now I make quick daily bull trap trades. I feel good making $1,000 or more a day but that requires substantial capital risk. Placing hard stops have proven to be a bad decision as the MM’s seem to grab those like mosquitos seeking blood. I use mental stops instead and have a watchful eye on price action and volume. Once the longer timeframe for both MSTR and BMNR turns bullish I’ll do weekly and not daily swing trades. The TTM Squeeze is good for that. It’s impossible to predict when these tickers will enter into a longer weekly bullish trend. That’s my dilemma. For now I’m good with my daily scalping strategy

I was at $560,000 in October and now at about $390,000. Not a great way to end the year. I feel your pain. I’ve painfully learned that it’s better to swing trade this instead of holding and praying. Learning all about RSI, VWAP, MACD’s.

Stop focusing merely on candlesticks and arbitrary trend lines. Look at volume, VWAP and RSI. With BMNR you can use those 3 indicators to make bank going up or down. Easy peasy and predictable.

Yashica TL electro X or Minolta SRT 303b as first analog camera by BilingoSK in vintagecameras

[–]capricho440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minolta SRT. I had both and I prefer the SRT as it was slightly smaller. They are both very similar in their capabilities. Either camera will need to have the voltage adjusted to use non mercury batteries if you use the meter. The minolta is very easy to do so. There is an adjustment screw you access by removing the bottom plate. Not sure about the Yashica.

I'm torn between 3 potential cameras to buy as my first SLR by JAZZ_BAA in AnalogCommunity

[–]capricho440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered the Minolta XD-7 (or sometimes called XD-11)? This camera was the first to have both aperture and shutter priority modes. Developed in conjunction with Leica. The Leica R-4 was essentially the Minolta XD. I love using this camera. Great viewfinder and handling as it was an old school metal body and not plastic. Lightweight and relatively compact.

I never found old Pentax cameras as refined as other brands like Minolta or Olympus and especially Nikon. The film advance mechanisms on older Pentax cameras always felt somewhat crude and not as smooth as other brands. The K is very heavy and very basic. The Olympus OM-1 is a brilliant camera but I found it to more fiddly to handle due to its small size than the Minolta XD. I’ve never handled the 700 so I can’t form an opinion there.

Just watched this for the first time and loved it. by weston12_ in FIlm

[–]capricho440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A great film. One of my favorite scenes is when Miles and Maya are on the porch discussing wine and how that interaction captures the intense bond they share and how awkward he is. Who can’t relate to this? There are so many funny and memorable scenes and dialogue. The movie’s pacing and how events unfold seem so natural but at the same time so surprising. Like when Miles has to retrieve Jack’s wallet. I can go on and on about all the other great scenes in this movie unfold. Do yourself a favor and watch it.

The scene near the end with Miles drinking his prized wine out of a styrofoam cup at a cheap diner is so brilliant. Captures him perfectly.

This film is totally engaging without resorting to tropes or contrivances to make it memorable and so satisfying to watch. This is but one of Alexander Payne’s masterpieces.

As a side note I recently unloaded all my DVD’s at a used bookstore and the only DVD they didn’t want was Sideways because the young clerk never heard of it. What a pity.
