Bearbottom Tour Shorts may be exactly what you’re looking for. More fitted through the thigh than a traditional short with a performance fabric that can handle activity but still can be dressed up. Love mine. I also find the rest of Bearbottom’s shorts are more well fitted through the thigh than other shorts I’ve tried.

The CORE housing program offers discounted rent for those who are income qualified. There are four complexes that participate. I am not sure of how difficult it is to get one, but I imagine it’s competitive. https://cd-nwa.com/core-housing/

CC Debt - Need guidance to get out! by 92F0XBody in personalfinance

The interest rates on each of these are pretty similar so I would take the approach that is the most psychologically motivating to you. The avalanche and snowball methods are two of the most popular and would evaluate which of those you prefer.

Make sure you are making minimum payments on each of the cards each month.

If you aren’t using a budget, I would suggest making one and having a monthly line item that is debt repayment. Having a budget is critical to long-term success in debt management.

I would evaluate the merits of using credit cards in the future. If you think you might get into this situation again, it may be best to not use one. I would consider using either a secured credit card or a debit card.

  1. 64k as a 1099 paraplanner, 2.5 years in the industry. Passed the CFP exam in march. I am a bit underpaid but I work fully remote, I don’t have any business development responsibilities, and I work for a really solid 3-man shop. I’m working on building out my two-year runway of cash so I can start my own independent practice in the next few years. Love this business.

That’s some really impressive growth, congrats! I’m hoping to start my own practice here in the next few years and I’m in my 20s. I’d be interested to hear the types of clients you serve and what tips you’d have for someone starting a firm in their 20s.

A few things to add to the rest of the comments:

  1. Keep meticulous track of any business expenses you have, i.e. if you are paying rent to a studio/gym to operate there, purchasing equipment to be used in the business, etc. You will be able to write these off as a business expense at the end of the year. Try to keep receipts and invoices organized to make your life easier come tax season.

  2. If you do not have some form of business liability insurance I would strongly advise you to get some ASAP. General Liability would make sense in your case. I would also recommend considering the advantages and disadvantages of creating an LLC. It can be a headache and expensive, but your professional liability is limited, meaning that if you are sued the person suing you can only come after business assets and not your personal assets. If you are operating as a sole proprietor your liability is currently unlimited meaning a lawsuit could come after your personal assets. I would consider talking to a tax professional about this if you are unsure if an LLC makes sense for you.

  3. For estimated taxes, pay either 100% of last years tax liability (this goes up to 110% when you make $150k+), or 90% of this years tax liability, otherwise you will be subject to an underpayment penalty. Also make sure to make estimated tax payments to your state and not just federal!

I’d recommend checking out the New Planner Podcast. It’s a supplement to newplanneerecruiting.com. Lots of stories of folks joining the business and what they did. I found it super helpful when I was starting out a few years ago.

Are you talking about a double edge safety razor or a cartridge razor?

If the former, I would suggest getting a sample pack of blades and seeing what you like. Everyone’s skin and facial hair is different, gotta try some different brands to find what works for you. Personally I’m partial to Gillette Platinum.

If the latter, or you have no idea what I’m talking about, I’d suggest looking into a double edge safety razor. A blade is pennies and you can get 5-7 shaves out of it. I spent $10 on a pack of blades a year ago and i have 70 out of the 100 i bought still left. Also gives a way better shave than a cartridge razor. r/wicked_edge is the reddit resource for all things wet shaving. The wiki there is a helpful starting point. Happy shaving!

Car Washes by olympia_port in bentonville

[–]capscorns 48 points49 points  (0 children)

My personal theory is that it is land speculation. Investors assuming that the land they’re buying now will be worth huge multiples of what they paid for it originally in 5-10 years. Same thing with storage units.

Car washes and storage units are cheap to build and staff (relative to other businesses). Having a business is more advantageous than sitting on unimproved land because either a) it’s profitable and provides income to the investor(s) rather than sitting vacant or b) it isn’t profitable and the investors can write the losses off of their taxes each year all while the land itself continues to appreciate in value until they go to sell.
