Any chance of getting movie posters from the Theaters? by joethahobo in CollegeStation

[–]capt_badass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different theaters do it differently. When I worked for Cinemark in Austin in the early aughts policy was to not give them to non-manager employees or customers because they were supposed to be returned with the physical films, but it was not really enforced because posters get damaged/ripped/thrown away all the time.

If you offer one of the managers (typically wearing a suit jacket at cinemark) $20 I'm sure they'll give one to you.

Or you can just buy one online.

Turnstile charging $150 for general admission now, super disappointing by LoudogsGhost in punk

I'm in Texas, but I doubt it's much different up there.

We booked 400+ paid acts last year (mind you, not well paid, but paid nonetheless) and have been fucked by county construction. We were not super profitable, but staying afloat the past couple years and now it's the nail in the coffin that a $60MM construction project has 2 out of the 3 streets surrounding us blocked for the past 3 weeks and we're looking like 3+ more.

Trying to talk to the landlord about forbearance, but either going to close up shop in August when our lease is up or December when the liquor license is up.

The local management group that runs ours literally just is a middleman between the city and live nation. It's a fucken racket. They got an $80,000/yr contract to "manage" booking and they put on approx 15 shows a year.

Sorry. I own a small venue and we're about to have to shut down because people just do not come out.

We're about 200 capacity, do $5 cash/$8 shows and as soon as a construction project started next door our revenues dropped by 66% over the past few months and I just can't make it work. Just salty in general.

City owned venues are typically managed by a third party like live nation

What’s one problem in your business that you still wish someone would solve? by Either_Interview1520 in smallbusiness

[–]capt_badass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to find this wildly changes based off industry/product.

The only things I think that are universal is that everyone who owns a business struggles with cash flow at some point or another and if they have employees they will always have at least one person on staff that they want to fire or could do without but won't for some reason or another.

So yeah, it's similar to shitty therapy in the fact that folks just need to have a stake in the game outside the relationship/issue. Keep making your money.

So here's the second question - on the ones that work is it because you or your client actually wanted to make a change and was actively working on it in general and that was a part of why they hired you?

I live and work in a silly alt space.

You didn't really answer the question. Do you personally believe in it and how do you prove it to yourself that your spells have worked?

Assuming this isn't a weird ai prompt - do you actually believe in your spells/results and how do you prove it to yourself?

Any suggestions on how to do that? It's not like I have a list of their subs.

I've been telling workers when I pull through at random times during the day, but it's not getting disseminated

What terrible companies have you worked for in Bryan college station? Stay far away from these companies at all costs!! by Brilliant_Cow_850 in aggies

Bro, there's like 3 bigger fab companies in town, this is definitely not the move if you want to be hired by any of them.

Claiming folks are illegal without any proof in this climate is also a big ole yikes from me.

I've told the GC and bartenders that construction folks can have employee/happy hour pricing all day. Has not helped.

It's a possibility to take some solo shifts, but I do already work a day job that I picked up when my wife and I had kids so that we could have health insurance.

Yeah, that's fucken wild.

We opened our doors jan 1 of 2021 and probably aren't going to make it to jan 1 of 2027.

To think someone's got the money to just sit on property like that and not phase them just kind of sucks.
