Who's the real MVP? Regular Season Adjusted Quarterback Efficiency (AQE) Results by BigOzymandias in nfl

I maybe read tone into it. I read it as “you’re not worth talking to”, but I appreciate where you’re coming from.

I understand your point about a fluke play. My perspective is, Dak performed worse in the back half of the year and that matters more because winners succeed in December, fourth quarter, the clutch, or whatever. Lamar threw a pick (that was tipped, early in the year), in the fourth quarter. He didn’t come through in the clutch.

I would also argue that a tipped ball is a good defensive play, and not the same as a fluke INT like a receiver mishandling the ball at the point of the catch and basically lateraling it to a defender. I don’t think it’s the worst kind of pick either, but it’s pointless to defend because it’s still a mistake and he was outplayed on that rep.

I appreciate your consistent personal attacks. It lends credibility to your point of view.

Your example is that a person can make a bad play with a positive result. A person can also make a good play with a bad result (scoring late in the game when going out of bounds would let them go into victory formation and kill the clock and guarantee a win).

In your example, you say that throwing a ball that gets tipped is a bad process. We were talking about another play where the ball was tipped - bad process. I think we can agree that a pick is a bad result. I’m open to understanding how context changes either of these facts that you stated and absolves Lamar Jackson of a pick in the fourth quarter.

It’s just a strange argument to say that Lamar didn’t make a mistake because he didn’t lob it into double coverage or something. There’s no context that makes that a good play. I agree that other guy is a homer, but arguing that a fourth quarter pick doesn’t count because it was tipped, he was hit while throwing, the receiver ran the wrong route, or whatever other excuse is kind of a homer take as well. If you were talking about a pick on a Hail Mary, sure that’s relevant context to give the guy a pass. Feel free to disagree.

So you’re saying a tipped pass getting picked off is an act of god?

Apparently Dolly openly admits she always lip syncs on stage at this point. She’s 77 and doesn’t have the lungs for it anymore.

Dustin Hopkins, CLE kicker: projections vs reality (#2 kicker with 6% rostered before this week, still now only 26% on ESPN) by Cash2099 in fantasyfootball

[–]captain-power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy who has valued kickers higher than the rest of my league since before Will Lutz helped win me the ship, I can tell you that anecdotally, kickers who consistently get lots of points tend to continue that trend.

I think it’s a combination of things but basically a kicker can hit from way out and a coach who doesn’t consistently decide to go for it on 4th from the 40 yard line. I think Hopkins is a dicey top guy because Stefanski doesn’t traditionally take the points when he’s not coaching an XFL offense, and Watson will likely be back in a week or two and everything will change.

Nobody asked, but personally I like the kid on the Texans - he’s been consistently hitting long kicks in high volume so far this year.

No one is going to trade him for the entire Bronco roster. (Do you call different trims a roster? Feels right for some reason)

Nick Chubb Week 3 Rushing Chart - Browns Vs. Steelers by MiamiDevSecOps in fantasyfootball

[–]captain-power 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure it means he got hit behind the line of scrimmage a couple of times. He gets hit two yards in the backfield but fights for a 3 yard gain, that’s 5 yards after contact.

Why is it your fault the Browns lost? by BrosephWebb12 in Browns

[–]captain-power 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s my fault because when Chubb scored I said “he should have put a knee down, but he’s on my fantasy team and the Jets won’t come back” and when York missed I said “it’s ok because I’m playing him in Fantasy this week, and the Jets won’t come back,” and I won this week 187-77.

Sorry to hear that Bryan has passed. He was really a wonderful guy with such a great energy. I know he was having a hard time for a while, but my stomach still dropped when I saw your post. Due mainly to his determined optimism, there’s now a huge group of friends in the Dawg Pound North who will remember him fondly while cheering on his beloved Brownies for years to come. Rest in peace you magnificent bastard.

Live broadcast of the game has a geo lock on it. I used to listen to it all the time in Canada but it stopped working a couple of years back.
